Japan

I'm not one for praying, but this one is a little close to home.

My cousins are half-Japanese.  They have family over in Japan they visit often.

Please keep them all in your thoughts.

Re: Japan

  • I have a friend over there now, her mom has cancer and she went home to Tokyo to visit her.
  • I saw video footage before I even got out of bed (on my phone). The waves are just so out of control. It is so very sad.

  • I get the "Breaking News" notifications on my phone and my heart just broke when I saw it mention the quake & tsunami. Watching the videos on the news were surreal. All those in Japan and with family over there will continue to be in my thoughts & prayers.

  • I have to friends stationed in Japan who are in the air force who I have not heard news on yet and friend who's in Hawaii for work for 6 weeks, it's going to be an anxiety filled day! T&P's to everyone who this is effecting in anyway great or small.

  • The images are completely surreal...thinking of everyone's friends/family members and I hope they're all ok!

  • I haven't seen any video yet, but I can only imagine what they look like.  I don't know anyone on that side of the globe, but my heart goes out to everyone over there and their families.

It's so hard to wrap your head around the enormity of the damage and how the Earth can be so destructive in a matter of moments. Nature is a wonderful and, at the same time, cruel thing.

I couldn't believe some of the photos! I have a friend in Hawaii with a 9mo pregnant wife that had to be evacuated to higher ground. So scary and lots of T&P to everyone in Japan and anywhere else that is effected.

  • Ditto everyone else, the whole thing is surreal, especially when you see the aerial footage.  So reminiscent of a few years ago.  I couldn't imagine being in Hawaii just "waiting" for it to hit.  Days like this remind us to not sweat the small stuff!

  • When Craig told me about this this morning, I about started crying.  That's so unfortunate and scary thinking about all those people affected by this.

And I'm the biggest skeptic ever, but stuff like this (combined with the Australia flooding/earthquakes) are seriously making me want to buy into the 2012 end of the world scenario.

  • For 4 summers as a teen, we participated in a Japanese ambassador program and had 2 girls live with us. I can't help but to think about those 8 girls and where they could possibly be right now. So sad. :(
