America's next great restaurant? It was on Sunday night ( I watched it on Monday though)
I thought it was really fun and can't wait to see how it progresses!

I LOVE the meatball guy's passion. He is awesome. I have a feeling he won't win just because they have put him on so many of the commercials, but I think he really wants it
DH and I did and we love it. I love the lady who works as a bartender where the menu is half good, half devil...I think she called it in limbo or something???
I've seen previews for it, and it looks interesting! Are they restaurants that already exist, or are they restaurant/menu concepts?
I think I saw a clip of a guy talking about adult grilled cheese....yum!!!
they don't exist, they are restaurant concepts, the winner gets 3 new restaurants in NYC/LA/Minneapolis backed by the 4 judges (bobby flay, the owner of chipotle and 2 others)
The adult grilled cheese guy made it to the top 10!
This idea isn't new though. Bobby Flay did a throwndown challenge with a restaurant that exclusively sold grilled cheeses with different ingredients in them. It is still a great idea and they should have more shops with grilled cheeses, but it isn't really fair to that other restaurant.
the thing is , it has to be a fast/casual restaurant. Not a sit down restaurant.
And most things aren't "new" ideas, most everything has been done. But it has to be affordable and something similar to chipotle as far as how you order/get food/quickness etc.
I meant the people didn't HAVE restaurants not that they were New as in completely new and different / never been done before....sorry if that confused anyone
I know of the contestants had some restaurants in the LA area and was using the show to try to expand his business...he did not make it to the top 10 anyways.
This restaurant is right down the street from where B used to live. The menu is huge and it's known more for its kid-friendly atmosphere and old fashioned ice cream counter; the grilled cheeses are kind of secondary. They started emphasizing them more once the episode aired. We used to eat there all the time; in fact it is where I took my mom when we were picking my wedding dress!

Although come to think of it, there are restaurants that sell grilled cheeses like that; B's aunt was telling me about one in MD and that his uncle wants to buy a franchise!

I just have to tell you that there is a restaurant/bar in downtown Glen Arbor (Art's Tavern) that has the most amazing adult grilled cheese that I have EVER eaten!
