Favorite "decor" stores?

We're not sure that DH will have a rugby game tomorrow, but if he does, he'll have to be at the park about 2 hours before game time.  I don't want to just sit there, waiting that long, so I'm thinking of dropping him off and then doing a little shopping for our new guest room.

I think I'm going to look for a bedspread/comforter or some throw pillows that I love, and then I can choose the paint color based on that.  So...where should I look?  I'll be near a pretty good-sized mall (though I've never actually been in it, so I don't know what stores they have), and I know there's a Target there.  (And of course, I'm not limited to just that mall. Smile)

Re: Favorite "decor" stores?

  • I like Homegoods, IKEA, TJMaxx, Walmart, JCP, Kirkland's, Target, Hobby Lobby

I suggest getting a basic comforter so that you can easily switch out a throw for the end of the bed and any throw pillows you like.  I love this store:  http://www.thecompanystore.com/  We have a comforter from there (basic tan is what we have had for about 5 years now).

Have fun shopping!!!  I love decorating, so post pics :)

Oh, and if you have a kirklands / hobby lobby / JCP near you, sign up for their email so you can get coupons!

  • I'm always bummed when my friends talk about Homegoods, because we don't have them here!  We also don't have Kirkland's or Hobby Lobby.  :(  But we do have IKEA!  I would just have to drive 45 minutes to get there.  I need to make the trip soon, though.

:(  You can shop online for kirklands and hobby lobby now.

Do you have any glass/candle outlets in your area?  Its my go to for cheap.  There's also thrift stores, antique malls too.

Oh, and I LOVE Pottery Barn, but it's too expensive. (eta* and Crate and Barrel!)

  • I love Pottery Barn but sadly that is not in my budget. I have never been to an IKEA but I really want to because I hear everyone talking about it. I really need to decorate my house some.

I really like Hobby Lobby (you can shop online) and I like Kirklands.

We usually get most of our stuff from Target and it is nice stuff at resonable prices.

  • alot of my stuff has come from kirklands also. a few years ago we had a consignment type store that had lots and lots of accessories and I went alittle hog wild in that store and that is where most of my stuff came from. i have a gorgeous heavy mirror that i paid 25.00 for and the retail sticker was still on it for 300.00
