Bee population declining-UN report
http://news.discovery.com/animals/bee-decline-united-nations-110310.html
So sad! Is there anything an average person can do to help? I buy organic and don't spray my garden or lawn. I had planned to plant a bunch of flowers in my landscaping plan this summer. Will that help the population bees to have one more clean place to go? I know it wouldn't be much. Whenever there is a big issue that arises, I try to make a change to help it, even if it just makes me feel better.
Re: Bee population declining-UN report
These are great things you can do! You can also support sustainable beekeeping by buying local honey, particularly at the Farmer's Market. Those beekeepers already have healthy hives, you can support that by buying their honey. This might enable the beekeeper to start more hives, thereby providing more safe places for honeybees.
