just had a little heart attack...
Got a quote for window shutters for our bedroom, the window has an arch... $1200?!?! Esh. Dh will die.... any ideas on what we can do? the poeople that live in the condo behind us sleep with their lights on...so we NEED something, well...DH needs something...I sleep with an eye mask on haha

My parents had an arch in their old house and had the same issue - they wanted some kind of window treatment and for whatever reason, it was super expensive for the arch.
They ended up just getting a carpenter to make a piece of wood that same size and painting it the same color as the wall, so it looked kind of like an extension of the wall. Personally, I didn't think it looked all that good but it blocked out the light and didn't cost a fortune. Not sure what other alternatives there are.
Maybe get a couple more estimates? Could be there is someone out there that'll do it for cheaper.

Probably. Just get an extra wide curtain rod so that you can push the curtains away from it and enjoy the look of the arch during the day.
