This earthquake/tsunami thing is awful.
Do any of you know anyone over there? Are they okay, if so? I don't, but my sister has several colleagues over there right now. So far, 2 out of 4 of them have checked in, and the other 2 are further away, so they're probably okay as well. She's been forwarding along the messages that they have been writing about their own experiences....one of them had to walk 3 hours to go get his son from day care, and lots of people are stuck at their workplaces because the trains quit running. Apparently they're having lots of little aftershocks now, too...one of them mentioned they kept scaring his kids.
Re: This earthquake/tsunami thing is awful.
Agreed. =( I saw a video taken in an office while the quake was happening - those poor, terrified people. I can't even imagine, especially with kids.
Here's an article about ways to help, for anyone who is interested.
