Sarasota restaurants/ things to do

H and I are going to spend a few days in Sarasota, so I'm looking for restaurants recs or other things to do.  We'll be near St. Armands Circle.  Thanks!

Re: Sarasota restaurants/ things to do

  • I'm not sure where it is in relation to where you'll be, but Daiquiri Deck is a pretty popular beachy restaurant down there. Lots of different types of daiquiris. I went there back when I was staying in Sarasota for an internship. There's also the Ringling Museum. I never made it there, but heard it may be worth checking out. Have fun!

  • I have been to Daiquiri Deck in Clearwater, IDK if they are owned by the same company, or just happen to have the same name.

    Thanks!

  • Ringling is an awesome place to go to!

On the Beach North of Saint Armands, there is Mote Marine-- its an aquarium and a working research center and next to it is a bird sanctuary

Also drive North of Saint Armands and you can hit Holmes Beach in Bradenton. The drive is pretty cool and they have assorted shops.

In Saint Armands there is the Columbia and a Ben and Jerrys!

Hope this helps and have fun on the beach!!

  • The Beach House (& the Sand Bar... owned by the same people, I think) is great.  We had our reh. dinner there & ate there numerous other times.  Delicious.

The Columbia is good & so is the Crab & Fin.  They're both right there in St. Armands.

Moonstone used to live in this area.  She knows all the good spots.
