Am I crazy or is there a connection...

My little man has AWFUL nasal congestion and has from day one. It is worse some days than others and always the worst at night. He literally gasps and struggles to breath and his nasal passages are almost completely blocked. For a variety of reasons I am starting to wonder if it is a symptom of a milk protein allergy. After trying formula twice (2 oz the first time, 1 oz this time) and having him projectile vomit and have a TON of mucus in his mouth and nose I am convinced the two are related. Am I nuts? Anyone have this experience?

It very well could be. I have a coworker who is allergic to milk. She said she eats ice cream sometimes anyway but pays the price by becoming very congested.
  • dairy in general can make you extra mucousy/congested. my kids didn't have dairy intolerance, but i avoided dairy in the first months just to prevent any extra congestion. and when they get colds now we cut out dairy for a bit.
  • My son has milk protein intolerance.  He was always very congested and always had mucous in his eyes.  As soon as he was put on Alimentum formula both of those things cleared up.  I had no idea that would happen or that they were related before that!
