Hey guys, all is good here (for us in Misawa anyway). Thank you so much for all the thoughts and prayers you've sent (here and on fb). It means a lot.
We have power back and our immediate area is pretty much damage-free. The ground is still shaking all the time, over and over. We've had no clue what's been going on with the rest of the country, so we're just starting to get the full scope of how awful it actually is. Total insanity. We're sort of just trying to get our bearings and figure out what we should be doing. Let's just hope nothing further happens...
Thank you all again so much for reaching out and keeping us in your thoughts!

Glad to know you're ok, P ! Please, stay safe!
I've been following the news on the NHK channel, as well as some friends' news in Tokyo. It seems like the situation (about the nuclear plants) might be more serious than what the Japanese authorities are saying. The whole situation is just heartbreaking and upsetting to me.
Yeah, it's totally disturbing. I'm hearing they've confirmed at least one meltdown... whatever that might actually mean as far as consequences, I have no idea. It's easy to start feeling kind of helpless now. There's little we can do right now to help the suffering that's so close, some people are freaking out and begging to be evacuated to the states, the aftershocks just keep coming and coming and coming, and it's hard to figure out what the heck is going on. I just can't believe this is happening.
I'm so sorry. Huge hugs!

I'm so glad you finally checked in here. I know people were saying you were posting on FB so we knew you were at least somewhat OK but it's nice to see you post here for myself
I hope things don't get worse before they get better and that you're feeling on solid ground again soon (literally and figuratively). Glad you guys are OK and that your DH is with you.
