Hi Ladies - I know I've been posting a good bit lately about birth control options - I'm considering going the NFP route but I am still currently on the pill and unhappy because I have NO sex drive - I want to want it, but I just dont. Anyhow - I'm still a bit uneasy going off the pill because I dont want to have a mishap and end up pregnant.
The only other option I'm considering is the Nuvaring - and I'm wondering...
Are any of you using it? and if so - has it effected your sex drive?
Is there anything that you "dislike" about it?
Thanks!!
Re: Nuva Ring and Sex Drive
I don't know that they wont - but I do know that many times when a women switches from one type of birth control pill to another, her experience varies between the two.
I would imagine my experience would vary between the pill and the nuvaring - I'm not sure if I would notice an effect on my sex drive specifically, which is why I'm curious to the experience other women have had.

Linds,
I have been on the NuvaRing for 2 years. I havent noticed a decline in my sex drive. When I was on the pill, it made me tired and usually didnt feel "up to it." If you do decide to try the ring, which I recommend, just know that when you have rough sex, its probably gonna come out. All you have to do it stop, wash it off in cool water and slip it back in. Its knida a nuisance, but the convenience of forgetting to take a pill everyday is well worth it. Good luck with you decision.
I used the NuvaRing and loved it. I loved the fact that I didn't have to worry about taking a pill every day. The only problem I had was that it is so expensive. It had no effect on my sex drive.
The ring has the same hormones as the pill so I would think it would have the same effect on you. But I'm not a doctor so I can't really say for sure...
I was on Nuva Ring for 1 1/2 years. It was fine for a while but then we both started noticing that my sex drive plummeted and it got very uncomfortable even painful during sex if we moved around or changed angles.

I would give it a try - the nuvaring has a lower amount of hormones (compared to many pills) and could turn out to be exactly what you need.
I had a great experience with the Nuvaring. At first it was not easy to insert - but after 2-3 months you get the hang of it. I also liked that fact, that i no longer had to think about the pill every-single-day.
I had no problems regarding my sex drive. The only thing that gets to me or 'stops' me is stress...
if you decide to give it a go: good luck, hope it works!
What is TTC? Just wondering, because I am on NuvaRing and it has completely killed my drive as well. Thanks!
