Do you ever think...

We share too much? I just saw on fb that one of my friends had her baby girl tonight (which makes me 7 out of the last 7 to guess right). But my first thought (after yay!) was I didn't even know she was in labor! You ladies and our sick need for constant status updates has ruined me! Haha. I'm kidding of course 'cause I love our updates and am dying to get updates on Eli and Amber!!

Re: Do you ever think...

  • Can't edit from phone but I want to clarify.... No Amber isn't in labor I'm just very anxious.

  • No, I think we all share just fine. Wink I share more things with you girls than a lot of people I'm FB friends with (i.e. people I knew in HS/college who I don't really talk to anymore but are fun to stalk...I mean see what they are up to...). Whenever my time is to have a baby I wouldn't mind telling you guys I'm in labor, but I don't want everyone on FB to have play-by-play updates. I'll probably text a few IRL friends (plus some family) and that's it.

  • I agree with holly.

and FB will not know until the babies come, but i don't mind telling you all Smile

  • I'd say I probably say more on here than on FB! There's so many people on my FB that don't need to know all the "finer" details of my life, but I certainly love that I can share things here!

I agree with Holly, too. The play by play we have here is kind of a replacement for being there in real life. Facebook is so different because I assume we all have many more friends on there than are here and many of those friends aren't as close as the ladies on this board are.

If we have a child, our facebook friends that aren't close IRL probably will have no clue until a couple days after since we don't facebook from our phones and most likely wouldn't get on there right away. But, I'm also not the type to make big announcements on facebook. My close friends get a phone call or are told in person while the rest can just find out through the grapevine.

  • Oh I totally agree with the thinking of not updating everyone (especially fb) with updates. I'm just so used to seeing it here and (even some creepy friends on fb who post about how dilated they are) that it was kind of a funny to me to know that this girl had her baby and I didn't even know she was at the hospital.

And IF I had a normal delivery I wouldn't have posted about it on fb but because I had a scheduled C/S I think I said something about going to the hospital to have B.

Oh and I think part of the reason I was so surprised is because her baby shower was just a couple weeks ago and I am used to them being a little farther out that this.
