post #1 - favorite food to bring to new parents?
Anyone have any favorite recipes to bring to new families?
If you make a lasagna, for instance, how do you bring it? Assembled but not cooked? Cooked but not frozen, cooked and frozen, not cooked and frozen..ect?
Re: post #1 - favorite food to bring to new parents?
i would think uncooked and not frozen.
my friend brought me mini muffins were were great for something quick i could grab or even eat while BFing
she also brought chicken soup and sauce and meatballs.
I have to say food is the best thing to bring a new family. its one of those things i didnt realize until i had a kid. you always usually just bring stuff for the baby.
We received a (not-cooked, frozen) Chicken Parmesan Meatloaf in a disposable baking container (our first time having Stephany's recipe), with sauce and cheese to add on + baking instructions. We've been hooked ever since!
Casseroles are good too. Maybe a quick search on Pam's site for freezer recipes might inspire you?
i love the chicken parm meatloaf idea, different and easy for them to just chuck in the oven for a quick dinner.
i think the pizza pasta recipe prepped and ready to reheat would also be great. and i agree with everyone else - lasagna or baked ziti ready to be put in the freezer or the oven.
THIS! I remember those first few months feeling strapped to the couch and wished I had more easy finger foods I could eat.
