My dad just sent me an e-mail wishing me a happy belated birthday, saying things have been crazy busy since my grandmother got into her accident. WTF? My dad and I aren't close, but I would think my sister would have mentioned my grandma's accident to me. I guess he thought so too, since he mentioned it so casually and seemingly assumed I already knew about it.
I e-mailed him back asking for details, then called my sister. When she didn't answer I texted her asking, "Do you know the details of grandma's accident?" and she just replied, "car". SERIOUSLY? That is not details. I tried calling her and got no answer. blerg. I hate being out of the loop.
Re: frustrating family.
update: I finally got my sister on the phone and she told me that my grandmother was in a car accident because she was driving the wrong way in a parking lot. Her car was pretty messed up but she escaped with just bruises, thankfully. Her license was taken away, though, and my dad moved her to an assisted living facility because she can no longer get around on her own.
Whew. This is a pretty pointless post, now. I'm just annoyed that no one feels like this is pertinent information. My sister and I have talked several times since it's happened; I sometimes, but not always, ask how my grandmother is doing but you'd think my sister would feel like this was pertinent information to pass along. She gets the info from my dad (she talks to him, I don't) and she also communicates with my grandmother every once in a while through letters (the snail-mail kind). I know that I could pick up a pen every once in while, too, so part of this is on me.
OMG, this is ridiculous. I can't believe she knew and didn't mention it to you!
I'd be annoyed at the whole situation too...at least she's ok!!!
