How was your weekend?

Mine was pretty good, though it went by too fast, as usual.  Although, I guess this weekend we can legitimately say it went by more quickly since we set the clocks ahead!

On Friday DH and I watched The A-Team on DVD and it was really fun.  Just a silly, cool action-comedy.

Saturday I slept in and then had a volleyball tournament in the afternoon into early evening.  We won!

Sunday I slept in again (felt so good...haven't had a chance to get so much sleep in a while) and then did miscellaneous chores most of the day.  Dinner was at the Capital Grille for Restaurant Week and my sister's birthday...my kona-crusted sirloin was divine!  Unfortunately, a couple of people in our party had steaks that weren't cooked the way they wanted, but it resulted in us getting no less than three extra desserts for free to compensate.  I think I had trouble sleeping last night because I had so much sugar Stick out tongue

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: How was your weekend?

  • Whoohoo for free dessert!

We went to Friday's for dinner on a whim. They undercooked DH's steak a little so he asked if they'd throw it back on a grill for a couple minutes and they gave us a $10 coupon. We weren't mean and didn't complain or anything so it was a surprise, especially since it has happened before and they just fix it. So that was kinda cool. My burger was cooked just the way I like it.

Saturday got up early so we could take my car in for an oil change. They were so quick that they were pulling my car around when we got back from grabbing some breakfast at DD (which is right around the corner). Then we went to visit MIL and SIL in CT. Had lunch out then went to a state park and walked around for a little bit. Grabbed some pizza for dinner before heading home.

Yesterday we had a really lazy day. Our internal clocks were kinda messed up from the time change so we got up really late, had meals really late and were surprised when it was time to go to bed, haha. I like lazy Sundays though.

  • Rock the Kona crusted sirloin is my favorite!  I have the recipe, and I make it here at home sometimes...of course it isn't as good as Capital Grille!  Now I am second guessing myself about our anniversary dinner...we are going to The Palm this year.  We have not been there before, and I felt like we always go to Capital or Ruth's Chris....hmmmm.

Weekend was good!  It went by way too quickly though.  I got to spend time with one of my best friends from college.

  • My weekend was pretty good! Can't complain!

I honestly can't remember what we did Friday. I'm pretty sure it was a whole lot of nothing.

Saturday I did some running around until H got out of work and then we went to the Home Show at the DCU Center. It was fun and we got a lot of good information (we're planning to build a house in the next year or so). Took a trip to Dicks Sporting Goods and someone backed into my car in the parking lot... what a pain. Then we went to see my sister and my niece. She is so much fun.

Yesterday I spend the morning with my IL's, did a little bit of house work, and went out for an early dinner with H. We spent the evening booking a couple weekend trips for the summer! That was a nice way to end the weekend!

  • camedown, it's always so hard to decide between trying a great new place or going to an old favorite, isn't it?  FWIW, I'd give the Palm a try--I don't know anything about it, but Capital Grille isn't going anywhere and it's often on the Restaurant Week list so you can go when they do it again in September (or it's still going on now if you really want to indulge and do both restaurants--actually, I think that's the best idea now that I've typed it out loud Wink).

ccbean, sorry about your car!  That sucks. Did you see it happen, or was it hit and run?

  • I was wondering how your birthday dinner went!

So excited to see you Wednesday!

Our weekend was great- WARM! We were in shorts all weekend (and they are today too!) Saturday I went and dropped off some clothes at consignment then bought a few layering shirts for my post baby belly!

We also babysat a pittie from a local rescue all weekend. He was very sweet and quickly made friends with DS and barely left his side all weekend.

We had friends over for dinner Saturday night. I hate our house for entertaining because it is so small and not laid out well for having company. But it was nice to see our friends again.

Sunday DH did yard work while I cuddled with DS and the dog and got ready to fly here this morning.

    The best news?

DH was offered a transfer. There is a salary bump BUT the BEST part is he is going from 75% travel to 10% travel! Whoooo!

Where is he being transferred to?

Our weekend was good. The usual... Visiting family, running errands... We bought a corner tv hutch off Craig's List because I was browsing and saw it and made DH go pick it up asap. He wasn't too thrilled to be moving our full-price store bought tv stand into the basement for my Craig's List find, but it has grown on him already haha. If we end up in a larger house soon, we'll have room for all the furniture filling the basement. I hope. We have a lot of stuff down there.
