UPDATE- Family drama

So I called.  I was on the phone with them for about 1/2 hour.  I was nervous and shaking the whole time.  They're going to follow up.  But, they made it sound like they'll provide her with "resources" so she doesn't take the baby with her when she does whatever she does.  So in other words.... they'll find her day care??  OY!

I don't know about WI, but once you're 'in the system' in CA, they do really follow up.  So, like she said they'll 'watch her' closely, at least for now.  It's all due process, as they can't just take her child based on an allegation like this.

    You did the right thing!

  • yeah, i know.  I have to trust the system.  They know what they're doing.  I'm just worried that SIL won't change unless something drastic happens.  Fingers crossed that's not the case.

  • You did the right thing.  They take reports seriously and they will follow up and keep an eye on your SIL.  She'll get what's coming to her and her baby will be better off in the long run.

  • I do not trust the system based on similar experiences in the past. I hope it works out and your SIL truly will change or that her baby will be taken away from her.
