Did anyone watch the episode last night, or last season?
I didn't know much about polygamy until I watched the series and I definitely had preconceived notions about what it actually was. I thought that the wives didn't (really) interact and that it was more like a bunch of separate families, just with the same man/husband.
I found the show to be very interesting. I learned a lot about their lifestyle and while I wouldn't want that lifestyle for myself, I support their decision to have it. I hope they don't find themselves in too much trouble or hardships from going public with their lifestyle.

Re: Sister Wives
I also find it oddly fascinating.
I am not one to judge alternative lifestyles, which is how I see this choice, and I think it is ridiculous that they would lose their jobs (I saw a preview) or be taken away. I think they all parent the kids really well and while I find the father kind of icky and don't get the appeal, I think it is interesting.
Also, I don't get why anyone should get in trouble for this. Technically he is only legally married to one "wife" right? So who cares? Plenty of guys have babies with all kinds of different women and then play no part in the kids' lives, so I figure at least he is an active father figure.
I really don't think this is any weirder than the Duggars.
I watched last seasons and had the marathon on yesterday. I DVRed last night's episode and will probably watch it tonight.
I really like the show and the wives. The husband is pretty annoying. I have zero problems with them choosing that lifestyle for themselves. The only time I think I would have a problem is if the parents forced the lifestyle on their children or if the wives after the first were receiving public aid by claiming to be single mothers (which would be legal since they aren't legally married). This family had said more than once that they just want their kids to be happy, productive members of society and they can choose whether or not they want to live in that lifestyle. I'm not sure about the aid though. Regardless, I like all of the wives and can definitely see the benefits of the lifestyle even though it isn't something I would choose.
They did have some legal trouble when the last season aired. I'm not sure of the outcome, but it sounds like they will be talking about it this season. I imagine it's ongoing. I think it's pretty ridiculous if the kids are being taken care of well, the adults are choosing the lifestyle, and they aren't huring anyone. Let them be.

I agree with this.
Right, they've said he's only legally married to Meri (wife #1). There must be something about cohabiting with multiple women in the state for there to be any investigation. Unless they are checking for alternative marriage licenses under nicknames or something with the other wives? I don't know.
It does remind me of the Duggar's in a way. I wouldn't want 19 children, but I think it is amazing how they have raised them.
I can't help but be fascinated by this show, JT and I watched it last night and we watched most of last season. I personally don't agree with how they live their lives but it's none of my business. He totally creeps me out.
I did see a report that he was being investigated for bigamy.

This exactly. I almost wonder if adding the 4th wife was more for publicity as part of the show for awhile...Cody just seems like he'd do something like that.
I haven't watched last night's episode yet...most likely won't get to until Wed. I thought I heard they were under investigation because of this show, but I haven't heard mention of it in awhile.
I agree that is my first thought of polygamy and I think it is wrong to do that. The way they are living seems to be a choice and they are leaving the choice up to their children. Heck, there was an episode where some of the older girls were saying that they did not plan on living that lifestyle and the parents seemed fine with it.
I'm also curious about Meri and if she actually did lose her job. I can't imagine how that would be legal. Isn't marital status part of EOE? If not, then religion certainly is.
