Might have a new car this week!

We are hoping to buy a new car this week! Originally it was between a Toyota Matrix, Toyota Prius, Mazda3, and Subaru Impreza Outback Sport (which is more like an Impreza than an Outback), but after test driving all of them today it's definitely between the Prius and the Outback... and we are leaning heavily towards the Outback.

I am so freaking excited about getting a second car, which will be *my* car, and not having to drive the Jeep Grand Cherokee all the time. I hate driving such a big car!

Also, we're getting an estimate from a cleaning lady on Tuesday, and if we like her/the price she can start right away.

This might be a great week!

Which color do you think we should get?

Re: Might have a new car this week!

  • Awesome! Subarus are great cars! My BFF's Dad bought a wagon in the early 70s and it still runs. True story.

Personally I like the black better, especially because red cars get ticketed more often :)

  • SO fun, congrats! New cars are a lot of fun. I'd pick the black too.

Ditto.  It looks like a great car!

  • I like both colors.  We have had a new Matrix for a few months now and we totally love it.  Toyotas are such good cars.
  • My ex had an outback and it drove really well!

Ohh I like either color sbut the charcoly color is nice

  • Black. Cheaper on insurance and supposedly "less accidents"

If you need body work reds are the most expensive and hardest to match

  • Black!

  • How exciting!

My DH has a Prius for work and it is sooo comfortable even on long trips!

I like the black of the two pics above :)

  • Black, I think. :)

I LOVE Subarus!!!! We'd buy one in a heartbeat if it was in our budget.

  • Sounds like a good week - new car AND a new cleaning lady - woot!

I actually really like the red.  Like really.  And I normally don't go for red cars.  But the other girls made good points about the black.  I have a black car tho - the dust and dirt is so noticible so quick - bleh!

We liked the Matrix, but our car seat didn't fit rear facing at all! The Mazda3 was a pretty tight fit - but it fit comfortably in the Prius and Outback.

We don't want to have to buy a new car seat and worry about having enough back seat room :)

Uh-oh!  We bought it to be our "family car" when we finally have a baby.  I hope we don't have this problem.  It surprises me though because it really is so spacious inside.

  • Just don't buy a Britax Marathon Wink Or maybe if you guys are shorter than H and I it would work better!

I am sure some car seats would work, but since we already have one, we didn't want to have to shop for a new one, especially since I want to do extended rear facing with DS and we know this one will work well.

When we bought our original car seats, we bought to fit in our current car. You just have to test them out :)
