Hi ladies,
So my mom and step-dad divorced 2 years ago but were married for 16 years, so my step-dad pretty much raised me. Even though they are divorced I still consider him and my step-siblings party of my family. My step-brother was preparing to get a heart transplant and doctors recently did an artifical heart and cleaned out all the scar tissue around his heart to prepare him for a heart transplant. He was born with heart problems and has had a lot of surgeries over his 31 years of life. Yesterday we found out that he is having multiple organ failure. Liver and kidneys are shutting down - he was doing dialysis for his kidneys but the liver is not shutting down. He also has an infection in his spleen. He is currently on life support and they are hoping after doing this and pumping him with antibiotics. The outcome is not looking too good but we are hoping he can pull through. If that doesn't work then they will look at removing him from life support per his requests.

We just got an update that they are going to do 24 hour dialysis at this time. The doctor determined there was some improvement overnight, which was really good. Doctor said not to give up hope yet. They are going to monitor another 24-48 hours and see how things go
