Has anyone seen that "Extreme Couponing" show/special?
Those people are kind of insane...who NEEDS 500 tubes of toothpaste? I get the rush of getting stuff for "free" but why do they have to hoard 300 boxes of pasta? I did like that one guy gave 1,100 boxes of cereal to his church's food bank.

Yes!! I was wondering why a family of two NEEDED a cart full of toothbrushes. Really?! Donate some of that stuff! I can't even imagine the hours they must spend getting the coupons, reading the weekly ads and planning their trips. I was in awe when the totals went from like $600 down to $30-something. I can't even imagine! I'd be interested to see how the total cost compared if they had only bought one of each item, or however many it needed for the coupon (like a 2 for $5 or something). That's how normal people shop and what normal savings would be....if that makes sense.

I guess that is the extreme side of things. I want to see a show where NORMAL people grocery shop and save $$$.

I do not need 500 tubes of toothpaste or 300 gallons of laundry detergent. Doesn't that stuff spoil over time?

I think everything goes bad eventually. I just don't get the need to have all this crap. One lady bought like 300 butterfingers, and not to be judgy, but she had no need for butterfingers.

seriously. For them, this is their FT job. I saw one lady go in the garbage to get coupons?!? Um, I am all for saving $$ but that is way too far.

This is going to sound bad, but maybe if she got a job that pays, she wouldn't have to coupon.

I get than some people might enjoy it, but I would have no patience for going to multiple stores and buying multiple papers and all that goes in to this. So not worth my time to save money on 100 toothbrushes.

I thought the same thing too.

I do get the joy of knowing I saved $XXX on my total grocery bill but the amount of time, gas, energy, space, etc used to stockpile these items is out of control, IMO
