I know, I know, it all depends on your relationship with the couple and how much you feel comfortable spending, but I need a general idea of what to spend on a shower gift. I was thinking like $50, but I wasn't sure if that's too cheap?
Regardless of what I can afford, the bride and her friends are big spenders when it comes to weddings, showers, and bach parties. I know it shouldn't affect my decision, but I can't help it - I have to work with this girl every day and I would hate to think she's silently judging me, KWIM?
Edit: So the poll part...
What do you generally spend on a shower gift, if you feel comfortable saying?
Is $50 too cheap?

Even being "close work friends"...I mean you don't hang out or talk outside of work so it's really just a work relationship no matter how you slice it...I think $50 is a very acceptable amount.
i know im way late on this and it doesnt matter anyway since you bought the gift already, but for a work "friend" i would spend around 50. for an actual friend it would be 100.
and i am nosy too--what did you end up getting her?

I am constantly looking for three tiered serving things but haven't checked C&B.
We got one for our wedding from C&B, I think. I can't remember! Hers was called the 'tripoli server'.
But you might want to check out Pampered Chef. My MIL has this awesome one where the tiers fold under one another for storage, but spread out and can be arranged to suit the space (i.e. stretched all the way in a line, or scrunched up more if you have less space). I like it because each tier is an entire plate, basically; you don't waste room on having a post running through the center, and it's much easier to access each tier that way, plus you can put items of any height on there. I am going to try and find it for you!
Edit: It looks like they don't have it any more, or maybe I'm wrong about it being from PC. They do have an adjustable tiered tower, though:
