It is SUCH a good book! It had a ton of great points and lots of research showing how girls are growing up these days. Although in a lot of ways my Ella is the opposite of a girly-girl, going to preschool next year could introduce her to a lot of new things and she may start to not like the things she likes now like dinosaurs and trucks :-( I recommend that any mother of a girl should read this...it seems too true!

    Betsy loves princess stuff and being a girly-girl.  I am kind of scared to read it-I think it might make me mad/upset.

    *ETA* I just checked and my library has it, but I'm #15 in the queue.  Maybe I will get to read it before Betsy starts preschool.

    It definitely gives you some great ideas to deal with some things your girls may encounter and it definitely doesn't bash princesses at all :-). Ella still loves to dress up and I will continue to let her do so, but I also make sure she knows she is beautiful regardless of what she is wearing. You can read 'into' the book as little or as much as you want!

    It looks like there are 2 copies in the DM library system - one at Franklin and one at East. If I'm reading correctly, there are 9 holds placed on the copies already. I guess I better hope Creston has it!
