People at work piss me off.
I am already a little high strung about work because we are looking at ways to cut budget and the most obvious way to me is to eliminate employee engagement (not that anyone has said it). Now, that is only half of my job (more like 1/6) but since it is in my job title it makes me feel like all of the "numbers" people want my job to get cut.
I mean, I'm not worried- my boss is only half a numbers person and would never cut my job unless someone held a knife to his throat, not to mention I can make a pretty good argument against it with the amount of money I bring in since I also do grants management for the hospital. The chances of me losing my job are super minimal.
Anyway, people piss me off because they are disrespectful. I get it, you think my job is expendable, but that's no reason to get up and leave when I'm saying something at the end of a meeting. Seriously. The HR director and nursing home administrator (both under 30, so same generation as me) paused, realized I was saying something about employee engagement and not something they thought was important, and walked out.
I would throw a hissy fit but my newsletter about the core values this week has a main article about being nice even when you're in a bad mood.
Re: Grr.
i can't believe they walked out while you were talking! esp the hr director. geez!
glad your job is safe though
I cannot believe they just walked out. Who TF do they think they are?
Deep breath in....and exhale...
And here's a special glitter punch for them..
This. I cannot believe they did that. I'd probably say something to whoever I thought could lay the smackdown on them.
