a kid that sleeps later or naps longer???
liams schedule has changed, it was before daylight savings so it isnt that. he used to go to bed 7:30-8 and sleep till 7:30-8. depending if aaron woke him up getting ready for school.... and he would still give me 3 or so hrs for a nap.
now he still goes to bed at the same time but is up at 6:30 sometimes before.... he still naps like a champ and i sometimes have to wake him if if gets past 4ish....
im thinking if i only let him sleep 2 hr naps he might sleep a little longer in the am. or should i just leave it alone and go to bed earlier myself b/c in 2 mos i will have an infants sleep to deal with......
sorry just rambling. i guess b/c im sleeping like sh!t its harder to wake up in the morn.
Re: what would you rather have???
I wake my youngest daughter up from her naps after 2 hours. She naps every day from 11 AM - 1 PM. My older daughter stopped napping when she was about 18 months old, so she just has "quiet time" resting at that time and watching a move or whatever for an hour.
My youngest would probably nap for 3 hours if I let her, but then wouldn't go to bed at 7:30 PM, which has been their bedtime forever. I usually just go in at about 12:55 or so and turn on her little music thing (it's a stuffed animal that plays tunes) so it starts to wake her up since she's a deep sleeper and then around 1 I just go in there and talk to her softly until she wakes up fully.
Not sure how deep of a sleeper yours is, but the music thing really helps her wake up slowly without shocking her (and making her cranky). Plus, when she gets up its lunch time, which may be her favorite part of the day, so that helps that she gets up and immediately has something she wants to do.
