I'm a lurker... but I'm not really sure what to do in this situation
I am a Pre-K teacher (our prek is in an learning learning center aka a nice day care)
My boss doesn't really follow the sick guidelines laid out by the state when it comes to employees. I called this morning to let her know I thought I had strep and I came to work for the first part of the day anyways, it really makes a difference when one person isn't there and the co teacher had an appointment this morning.
I went to the doc in the afternoon and I have strep, an ear infection, a sinus infection (which I get sinus infections often) and a fever of 102.0
I called my boss to let her know and that I wouldn't be able to come back to work and she told me to be there tomorrow, even though the doctor told me to not go back til Thursday (possibly Friday)
When someone has a fever you have to be fever free for 24 hours before coming back. Is there something I should do, or just be thankful I have the rest of the afternoon off? I really don't want to cause problems, I feel awful and I can't imagine feeling good enough to go to work tomorrow.

There is I'm not sure of the number but I could figure it out. I'm worried by boss would get pissed if I went over her head.
I also work in a state that an employer can fire an employee without reason, I can't see her doing that, but then again who knows.
Go with your gut instinct here and stay home. You have a doctor's note. I would not want my children to go somewhere where the staff was too sick to work. The parents (who are paying customers) would be in a uproar if they learned the director wanted you to work even though it was against doctors orders!
Do you have a copy of the HR policy of your employer?
I used to work in a child care similar to what you are talking about... it was a pain in the arse when someone was out. There was never "one extra person" to help when someone was out and the director really wasn't very supportive (in many ways). Glad I got out and ended up working in a much better child care environment next.
Your boss has all of today to figure out the coverage. She is the supervisor, getting paid the supervisor salary, so it is her issue. Go home and rest!
