just out of curiosity, how long do their batteries last?
They actually last a really long time. Not a year, mind you, but it'd keep you occupied for a while.
2) a vat of SPF 100 sunscreen
3) a change of underwear
1) Chapstick
2) Sunglasses
3) A float or a fun beach toy of some sort

they do make solar powered ipod chargers! they look like a check book with a plug attached, it opens up to reveal the panels.
i changed mine, now i want one of those and a kindle with tons of books
