What to do with MIL

So my MIl is coming to town this week. I took all of wednesdays off of work. What should we do? H will be with us. We also have reservation to Berns at night (so excited I've only ever been to the dessert room) so it needs to be close enough where we can be back in town by 5ish...

I was thinking maybe Sarasota? Maybe Orlando?

Any ideas?

Re: What to do with MIL

  • Maybe Clearwater Beach?  That's my answer every time I have company.  I take them to Frenchy's for lunch. lol

Side note, when I read the title of the post I was thinking 'I'd like to send mine to the moon....oh, I bet that's not what she meant."

I was thinking, "Tell her to go for a long walk off a short pier."  But maybe she hasn't been married long enough for that.  ;)

I would say beach, Ellenton outlets, Orlando CityWalk or Downtown Disney, or, if it were my MIL, just drop her off at a church for 12 hours and pick her up for dinner.  ;)

  • Hahha... Thankfully I have the BEST MIl. I lost my mom almost 4 years ago and my MIL is the next best thing. I honestly don't know what I would do without her in my life... sappy I know.

     Thanks for the suggestion ladies:)

Uh-oh, Nicole, I think we have the same MIL (Well, FMIL in my case.)

Except, if I leave her at church long enough she will convince someone else to feed her.

If it were mine, I would suggest taking her to the movies (FMIL doesn't go many places other than to church or the grocery store in Wauchula.  Actually, I think that is all there is to do IN Wauchula.)  The beach is nice and unless it is Spring Break here, usually not too full.

I'm a nerd and would try to talk her into going to see the Manatees in Apollo Beach.  You could pick up a picnic lunch and pet the manatees!

  • What about the aquariam or a museum?
  • Hi, ladies. I know I haven't posted in months, I've only been lurking lately. This is totally off topic, but I have family in Wauchula, Amellis. Other than the Walmart and church, there isn't a whole lot going on! But what a small world! :)

We went to see the manatees when my H and I were down in December and it was really neat. :)

FMIL moved there about a year ago, I think.  Maybe less.  Her husband is in a correctional facility in Bowling Green, so she wanted to be closer to him, I guess. FI wants to go see her this weekened and I hate the drive out there, and she has so much furniture shoved into a tiny little apartment that it is stuffy and cramped in there (& that was before I was ginormous and pregnant!)  I think there is someone else on this board who lived in Wauchula - I want to say it is either Kim&Ross or Tasha.  I can't remember right now.
