Pregnancy Awareness Month!?
Apparently May 2011 will be the 4th annual Pregnancy Awareness Month. This seriously makes me go "WTF!?!!1!"
Pregnancy is not a disease, we don't really need to be raising money for pregnancy research, and quite frankly, it's not like you need a month to be like, "Am I pregnant? I need more awareness about my uterus!"
Augh, seriously?

Re: Pregnancy Awareness Month!?
really? that seems so strange to have a pregnancy awareness month.
but with the shows "16 and Pregnant" and "I didn't know I was pregnant," I guess you can't tell what america might need.
"Pregnancy Awareness Month is a month of events focused on women trying to get pregnant, expectant couples and new parents. "
{facepalm}
just what i needed-to be lumped in with pregnant people for the sake of awareness. WTF?! who in their right mind puts these two groups of people together?
"Pregnacy Awareness Month was founded with the missions to educate women about pregnancy wellness, the journey of modern-motherhood beginning before pregnancy and supporting new parents through the demands of new-parenthood."
i just....can't. this is not something to have a month of awareness for. it just isn't.

I think they should have an Idiot Pregnancy Awareness Month instead - to educate about safe sex and decrease the amount of adorable children born to unfit parents.
Although I admit - I

agreed! i PPH teen mom as well!
I don't know, with America having one of the highest infant mortality rates in the developed world, maybe its not as bogus as we all think. We are a select element of American society to takes the time to do the research and get the information we want/need to make healthy decisions. Not all people do so, and unlike many countries w/ a more publicized health care system, we're not required to do so.
(Not trying to open the healthcare can of worms at all, so lets not go there. I am simply observing that many developed countries have very different healthcare systems, many of which emphasize education of their patients more strongly than our system does.)
omg me too!
