I love the Pats & Sox.  H & I try to go to a lot of Pats games every year, especially that it's so close.

I have a huge crush on Theo Epstein.  Embarrassed I would love to have dinner with him.  He seems like a genuinely nice/ cool person.

I'm not a huge fan of basketball & hockey in general, but actually going to a game is a lot more fun than watching it on tv.

MH is a huge Boston sports fan.  In fact his 'man cave' is completely decorated with all sorts of Boston sports memorabilia/ pictures, etc.

He is on my list (a la friends)

I'm the same way. Huge Pats Sox (love living in Tampa you can see them 16 times a year. and now the Rays have Johnny and Many)

I feel the same way about hockey and basketball. Basketball I actually am starting to like more. Our dog is Pierce.. and the last 2 christmas we go to the Celtic Magic game.

I think our H's would be best friends. His Man cave is the same. Actually our house has Boston stuff all over it.

No.  I'm a little embarrassed about it.  But really, all that's been done down there so far was set up tv & surround sound, hang pictures/crap & curtains.  Making the man cave look 'nice', IMO, is low on the list of To-Dos still.  H is happy with it in its current state, so it's fine for now.

Does this picture make you smile?

Adorable!  Love it!  Is that the new pup?

What's the most amount of money you ever spent on a ticket to a sporting event?

H spent a ridiculous amount of money for tix to see the Celtics, last time they were in the final 4.  I told him to bring a friend with him that would appreciate the game more than me.  They had a great time though.

We usually spend about $100/tix to the Pats game.

Are you originally from FL? No.  I moved down by myself right after college to work at Disney.  Stayed for a little over a year, moved back & re-met H.  My parents moved to FL shortly after that.

How did you meet your husband? H & I grew up in the same small town.  He's was a year ahead of me in school.  We grew up 2 streets away from each other, rode the same bus, etc... so we've always known each other.  Not long after I moved back from FL, I went to a local bar with my BFF.  H was there.  BFF wanted to hang out with H's friend, so H & I tagged along being a good friend to our respective friends.  BFF & H's friend didn't work out, but we were inseperable from there on out.

What's your favorite type of dance to dance? Up until about 2 years ago, I'd say tap without a second thought.  Since then, I've been enjoying Contemporary more.  Lately, it really depends on my mood and who I'm dancing with.

What's your favorite type of dance to teach? Ballet is the easiest for me to teach, but I see more immediate progress with jazz.

  • imagetashaandsage:

At what age did you began dancing? 2 1/2

How long have you been with your H and how did you meet? We never know the answer to this.  Neither of us can remember.  I want to say somewhere around 2003.  I do know that it was in early June.  I remember my birthday being not long after we started dating.

See my answer to Aegis about how we met.

How do you best like to spend your freetime? We have a state park right near us, that we love to take the puppy to & do some hiking.  I'm still working on decorating the new house & planning our next renovation project. Next up is granite.  I enjoy making decor like wreaths & centerpieces.

Also, IL's have a beach house down the cape that we love going to.  When the weather's warmer, we'll take the boat or kayaks out, go to the beach & do summery stuff.

Where is one place you'd like to travel? New Zealand & Australia.  This is my dream cruise:

Los Angeles, California, US;  Hilo, Hawaii, US;  Honolulu, Hawaii, US;  Kona, Hawaii, US;  Pago Pago, American Samoa;  Apia, Samoa Islands;  Cross International Dateline;  Suva, Fiji;  Noumea, New Caledonia;  Ile des Pins, New Caledonia;  Eden, Australia;  Sydney, Australia

If you have a son someday, will he get to take dance classes? If he wants to.  We're not going to pressure our kids (boy or girl) to take dance.  From what I've seen, it's tough being a dancing child of the dance teacher.  They're expected to be good & are under a lot of pressure.

I really hope they want to try something else, so I can be a regular supportive parent like everybody else.

Her name is Chilly.  She's the only child right now.  I'm trying to talk H into getting another dog, he's not 100% on board yet.  I mentioned to him about fostering a dog, he liked that idea.

Did you attend college?  If so, where? Yes, I went to Dean College for dance.

Do you have any piercings or tattoos? My belly button is pierced.  That's it.

What is your fave boy name and girl name currently? Hmmm... I change my mind ALL THE TIME with boy names.  Right now, my top 3 are Jacob, Ayvan & Gavin.  For girls, I've always liked different forms of Julia/Juliana & Audrey/Audra/Audriana & Gwendolyn.

You follow a leprachaun and find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.  What do you do with it? Oh boy!!  How exciting!!  How much gold is in the pot?  MH & I were just talking about a situation like this last night.  He was asking what I'd do if I won $30,000 on a scratch ticket.  I said probably buy a new car.  But maybe, I'd take a nice vacation & then pay cash for some of the car.

What is the worst experience you have ever had? I don't know.  Nothing really springs to mind right away.  I'm thought of a few different things, thinking 'Boy, that sucked.' and then, 'No big deal now.  It all worked out.' So I guess besides witnessing tragic situations of death/illness, I really have nothing to complain about.

What is the best thing that has happened to you? I know this is really lame, but my H.  Not only have I learned so much about myself & done/tried things I never thought I would. We've been through many life events together.  I rely on him for so much strength & encouragement and I know he feels the same way.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I HATE the winter.  If I never saw snow again, it would be too soon.  That's one big reason why FL is so appealing.  I really like the Sarasota area or Delray.

MH on the other hand, claims he likes the changes of season (even though he complains everytime it's cold, snowing & just plain miserable out).

Plans for kids in the future?  How many?  We're sort of working on it.  We have really crappy health insurance right now.  I've been trying to find another job with better ins. but so far, no such luck.  As of now, if I get KU it's okay, we'll get by but it would be more ideal with better ins.  I'd like to have 2.

People are mad at you because of something that happened that was not your fault.  You made all the arrangements and then find out someone changed something on you.  But still co-workers are mad at you.  Do you shoulder the blame or deny it? Oh that stinks.  What a stinky situation to be in.  I would probably make a general appology... something like 'I'm so sorry.  There was a mistake with scheduling.  I'm trying now to fix what I can.  Please bear with me.'

Yay!  One more for the night!

I love SYTYCD.  Unfortunately, it usually comes on while I'm teaching & I have to DVR it.  Then, I never get around to watching it, or the DVR acts up & I miss a lot.

What I like most about it is the choreography.  It sparks my creativity & gives me some fresh ideas.  It also inspires my students.  Since that show has been on tv, I've noticed they work harder to be able to do the things they see on the show.  It's a win/win all around.

What I don't like, is how they play up the 'back stories' of the contestants.  Like Sabra, from a couple of seasons ago.  They made it sound like she's never danced before, when in fact, she had really good training.  She just started taking it seriously a lot later than most.  Most of the contestants have been very successful in the dance world prior to being on the show, touring with Janet Jackson, performing in Broadway musicals, etc.  They just make it out like this is their first big break.

Every season I know somebody that makes it to Vegas, but they haven't made the top 10 yet.

Other hobbies... ummmm... nothing exciting.  I love traveling, but don't get to do too much of that.  I've been really enjoying fixing up our house.  I want to plant some vegetables when the weather is warm enough.  I like boating, but don't get to do that enough either.  I go through reading phases (right now isn't one of them).  The puppy takes up a lot of my free time.  I'm pretty dull.
