What's your stress-reliever?

Re: What's your stress-reliever?

  • If Zach's home to help, sex. If not, hot bath with wine. Yes, simultaneously. And then there's the need for girl nights on occasion.
  • Oh, I wish exercise was my de-stressor!

For me, it's quite the opposite - more like having a nice dinner with Chris, or something.  Just quiet time with just the two of us...and the dog, of course!

    Sleep is always good, too.

  • Alcohol, hands down.  And a girls night where I can vent.

Me too, I would be super skinny if I used exercise to relieve all of my stress (I'd probably never stop exercising).

I am unfortunately one of those people who relaxes with food.  I love to enjoy something yummy after a long stressful day.

  • Prayer always helps me :)

I recently discovered that I love to draw too, especially with colored pencils.  Chavis actually gave me a mack daddy professional set on our wedding day.  I really need to get back to that...

  • Brooke- those are awesome! Great talent!

For me, exercise is a great stress reliver, but if I'm stressed, it can be hard for me to get my butt in gear, but once I do I feel great.

Otherwise, I love a hot shower.

  • Brooke you are very talented!   I love pink flamingos!

    I, unfortunately, de-stress with food.

  • Wow Brooke!  Those are amazing!

I also wanted to say...can I add a good cry to this list?  I just got off of a phone call at work with someone who was less than nice (for no reason, really).  I don't cry at work, but I'm majorly holding back the tears!

  • Stress reliever is a good book in a hot bubble bath by candle light. If it's really bad, add chocolate or cookie dough into the equation.

    Mad reliever is exercise...

  • I agree with everyone who said they WISH exercise was their stress relief. Wouldn't that be fabulous? Sadly, that's not even close to being true.

My stress relief, oddly enough, is cooking. Not even eating. Just cooking.

    Oh Sara, so true!!

And Megan, definitely a good cry!

  • I de-stress with wine and the more stressed I am the more wine I require!  Sex always helps too.
  • I destress the lazy way. Butt on couch with junk food. Yuck. Which usually leads to more stress in another way

Recently I have been destressing with relaxing outside since it has gotten so nice and I'm off so early in the day. I also have been doing alot of crafting and decorating as well.

But when I'm really upset nothing like a vent, a cry and a strong drink lol

  • Most of mine are listed above: Wine, food, crying, massages.  But last night I was reading d@mnyouautocorrect.com and laughing out loud over and over, and it reminded me what a great stress reliever laughter is.  I felt better after those 15 minutes of laughing than I do after 3 glasses of wine.

I hadn't thought of this - what a good point!

Any time I'm stressed or upset, Chris makes some kind of stupid joke/comment, and it always makes me feel better.  What a great reminder!

  • A good cry and a long b!tch session with one of my girlfriends. Or like Sara, I love to cook when I am stressed. I wish exercise was my plan of action after a stressful day but, nope, not so much. I also like shopping when I am stressed :)
