Adler Planetarium (Chicago)
Has anyone been there? Did you enjoy it?
We're thinking about going to Chicago for a quick getaway soon, and my husband is really interested in checking it out. But I'm concerned that it would be boring, and a quick search of TripAdvisor shows a lot of poor reviews. Also, maybe it's more geared toward kids?
Any personal experiences?
Re: Adler Planetarium (Chicago)
While I have never been to the Adler, I have been to the Shedd Aquarium, Museum of Science and Industry and the Natural History Museum. My favorite was the Museum of Science and Industry, but I think that is because i am a fifth grader at heart and love hands on stuff.
If you are looking at doing a museum or tour I would highly recommend the Architectural tour on the river. This of course depends on when you are going and what the weather will be like.
I lived in Chicago for about 6 years so if you are interested in any restaurant recommendations let me know. Things of course have changed in the 2 years since we have been gone, but it might be helpful from a starting off point.
We've been wanting to go to the Adler. I think it depends on the program and what you expect out of the experience.
What you could do is plan on making a day out of both the Shedd and Adler since they are right next to each other. That is what were going to try and do hopefully next month during the kids spring break.
Thanks, ladies. We've been to the Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum. My husband is currently on an astronomy kick right now though, so we were thinking about checking out Adler.
Hoektastic, I'll let you know if I have any more specific questions. Thanks!
