Food Questions

How long do you think steamed veggies and fruits are good for?

Cooked chicken breast?

I usually make enough food for B for 2 days (that day and the next) but now that she is eating more that same amount of food isn't lasting as long and I don't want to be making things every day. (I know I could just double what I currently make but if I can I would rather make enough for 3 days.)

Re: Food Questions

  • I usually go with a week or so!  I think 3 days is safe.

  • I have a 4 day in the fridge rule for pretty much anything.  But veggies and fruits, I'd probably go up to a week, as long as you dish into another container before feeding (so no double dipping with the spoon).

  • THanks ladies!

No spoon issue here. We are doing baby led weaning and she flat out refuses to eat if I'm trying to feed her. It is kinda awesome! haha.

Excellent!  We (sort of) followed this approach, too, and P got so much confidence from figuring out how to feed himself that he taught himself to use utensils just by watching us eat.  We figured they worked on it at school, and his teachers thought we taught him.  We figured it out a few weeks ago when they made a comment to B about it.  He actually picks up his bowl to scrape the yogurt or applesauce out of the bottom with his spoon now - it's hilarious (and messy)!
