What rooms in your house get the least and most use?
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little?
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used?
Where do you wish you had more space?
Re: What rooms in your house get the least and most use?
Right now we hardly use the guest room & office/crap room, but I'm sure that will eventually change.
I wish I had a formal dining room. & a 3-car garage.
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little?
OMG we have entirely too much space for the two of us and two (or three or four) little dogs. It is ridiculous really. Our house is 2000 sq ft and we probably use a quarter of that.
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used?
I literally haven't opened the door to the guest room in months. We never have anyone stay over, so that would probably be the most wasted. Honorable mention to the practically empty sunroom that's only purpose is we have to walk through it to let the dogs out. Also the dining room we never use, the garage is used for storage, one of the guest rooms is a gym room/storage (so a wasteland) and we never hang out in the living room.
Our big TV and our cable box is in our bedroom, so we hang out in there a lot. We also use the kitchen a lot and the table that's in the kitchen. Annnnnd that's it. ETA: One of the bedrooms is an office and we use that a lot.
Where do you wish you had more space?
I wish all of our wasted space could be used for a bigger backyard. Our backyard is the size of a postage stamp.
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little?
Our house is ~1450 square ft. It's fine for us right now, but honestly I wish we had more. I would love to have a 2 story house.
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used?
The guest bedroom is rarely used. Whenever we get around to having children that will definitely be the kid's room and we'll get a pull out couch for the office. The florida room/sunroom is also kind of a waste of space right now. I wish we could come up with a way to make it more functional. Everything else gets a decent amount of use, but there's really not that much else - our bedroom, an office, the living room (where we watch all our tv), the kitchen, a breakfast nook, and 2 bathrooms.
Also, the layout of the house includes a long hallway, which leads to a lot of wasted squared footage.
Where do you wish you had more space?
I wish we had a formal dining room. I wish the bathrooms and closets were bigger. I wish we had at least one more bedroom so I would feel like we could have more than one kid in the house. I would love to have a 2nd story with a loft area. I wish we had a screened in back porch. I wish we had a laundry room and pantry. sigh... I could go on and on...
My Ovulation Chart
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little? Technically, too much space.
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used? The second floor is most wasted. The living room, kitchen and our master are all downstairs, so we mainly stay downstairs between those three rooms.
Where do you wish you had more space? I wish we had a one story house with a downstairs office and an eating area that was in viewing distance of the tv.
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little?
Too little, only bec of a lack of storage. I'd like to have 4 bedrooms so we could have a guest bedroom, but if we had more storage I think 3 would be fine.
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used?
There's really not much wasted per se, but least used is the dining room. Most is probably the office and the living room/kitchen.
Where do you wish you had more space?
Just storage. The spare bedroom is full of random crud that doesn't have anywhere else to live, but still not quite enough room for gym equipment. What I crave with every fiber of my being is a BASEMENT. Seriously, that's one of the things I'm most excited about in moving up north. If our house had a basement, it would be perfect for us right now.
We have a good amount of space.
The most wasted space is our entryway sitting room. It's right in the front of the house so it can't be used for any real utilitarian reason, but it's quite large. If we just had that space anywhere else, we could have a gym or something more private, but instead it's just a sitting area that rarely gets used.
The most used place in the house is the office/gym, which is pretty small.
I wish we had more space in the back of the house where the office is.
Right now we hardly use the office/guest room. When DH worked from home we had to turn one of the bedrooms into a home office. Now, with 1 beroom an office and the other the nursery I feel we have too little space and wish we had a bigger place that has 3-4 dedicated bedrooms and a separate office space, but that is never gonna happen since we wont be able to sell our place for a while.
I don't think we really have a most wasted space in the house since we tend to use every room. The most used room would have to be either the kitchen or the living room.
I really wish we had more outdoor space. Our yard is a decent size but DH wants a pool and the pool he wants would take up a good majority of the backyard, so a bigger lot to have the yard we current;y have plus a pool would be really nice.
I love the fact that we have a formal dining room but really we use it probably 4 times a year. (totally forgot about this room!). I am hoping that once the baby is here we will eat in there more and not sit our butts in front of the tv to eat dinner.
I love our 2 car garage but a 3 car would be so much better. DH shoves all kinds of crap in our garage and it would be nice to be able to park my car in the actual garage. Right now my space is being taken over by the riding lawn mower AND the golf cart.
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little?
Too little
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used?
Most wasted is the dining room. We have a little 2 person table in there that we maybe sit at 2-3 times a year.
Most used is the living room. If we're home and not asleep, we're in the living room. Heck a lot of times, one of us falls asleep on the couch, so even then, we're in the living room. If we have people over, everyone's in the living room. That's where all the seating and the tv is.
Where do you wish you had more space?
1. The kitchen- We still have wedding gifts in boxes in our bedroom closet, because there is no storage space left in the kitchen. We are redoing our kitchen in May, so hopefully we will end up with more storage space.
2. I wish we had a 4th bedroom. When we buy a new house, I am only looking at 4 bedroom houses. We actually do use our 2 guest rooms quite a bit, and one of the guest rooms is going to be turned into a nursery, so we are going to lose a lot of space.
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little? too little. Our house is only 1000 square feet and 2 bedrooms. Unfortunately that is all we could afford in 2006 when home prices were so high.
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used? Until now the guest room was wasted space. Now it will be the nursery.
Where do you wish you had more space? I wish we had an extra bedroom and a seperate eating area. Ours is a living/dining combo. A laundry room would be nice too. I hate going out in the garage to do laundry.
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little? Depends on the day. We're 2 people in a 4 bedroom house...so of course we don't use the whole house all the time by ourselves. We have our room, the guest room, a gym/office. Then, I have a junk room right now that I'm slowly working on organizing....putting things where they ACTUALLY go and getting rid of others. Eventually, that will be a nursery. THEN.....I'm out of room. haha
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used? Wasted space: I'd say the closets and the junk room. Since I have so much organizing to do, all of these areas are just piled with crap instead of being used to their potential. I'll get there. Most used: Kitchen. I have a big kitchen, it was a major selling point for me and I absolutely LOVE it. I use every bit of it.
Where do you wish you had more space? I wish my 2 guest bathrooms were bigger. Or even if the space for the 2 were just combined into one. It's nice having 2 bathrooms over our master, and they're perfect for now. I just think about bathing a child, or trying to potty train....or whatever down the road where it requires more than 1 person in there at once....it's kind of cramped.
The most wasted space is our front bedroom/guest room. It has a bed and all our unused workout equipment. It will oneday be a child's room. The most used is our kitchen/dining/living room area. We have an open floor plan so we use that area most.
I wish we had more storage space. The closets in both spare bedrooms are packed with totes full of stuff. The middle bedroom is the "dork room"- it has 5 or 6 book cases full of books and H's toys. That room serves no purpose other than organized storage.
I'm going to answer this based on our previous living situation since we're living in one room right now.
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little?
We always felt like we lacked space, but mostly storage space. We have way too much stuff.
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used?
We spend the most time in the bedroom/living room. Any kind of eat-in kitchen has always been wasted since we tend to eat in front of the tv.
Where do you wish you had more space?
We can't wait to have a decent back patio and more closet space!
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little?
I think we're about perfect space-wise. We have 1200 sq feet for us, the baby, and the two cats.
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used?
At the moment, pretty much everything is utilized, although we could definitely benefit from building more storage in the garage,
Where do you wish you had more space?
I wish we had gone for the three bedroom model in our town home complex. We don't NEED the extra room, but it would have been nice to have an extra room for guests once the baby gets here. As it is, homegirl will be relegated to our room any time we have guests.
Do you feel like you have too much space or too little?
We probably have too much, our house is just over 3000 sq ft and it was definitely too much when we bought it, but once this baby arrives we'll be using most of the space, so I think it was a smart choice for us.
What is the most wasted space in your house and the most used?
Probably the dining room - we only eat in there 2-3 times a year. I love having a table big enough for everyone to sit at though. As for the most - it's a toss-up between our room and the living room.. or the back yard
With the nice weather we're out there a LOT now.
Where do you wish you had more space?
I wish instead of the 2nd bedroom downstairs we had a bigger room or a loft area upstairs. It's B's playroom and its just a normal sized bedroom and with all of the toys and stuff it just feels SO cluttered.
