I'm going to be getting new outfits for the kids for Easter / their birthdays / our family picture (which we're holding off on doing until May now).
So, I was thinking something along these lines for Kyle --
What would you put Shannon in? She's a pink girl, but honestly looks good in everything. I don't think they need to be matchy-matchy, but I'd like them to coordinate well.
And, what about the grownups? Since we're going to be getting family pictures done, would you put me us in darker shades of the same colors as the kids? Have us be more neutral? This picture is going to be hanging in my house for 3 years before we plan to have a family portrait done again, so I don't want to regret our clothing choices!

Re: Need help with outfits: Easter / birthdays / pictures
i love that dress, pam!
i'm no help since i'm in the same boat. my mom is having us all take family pictures on easter and she wants us all to coordinate outfits.
these are really cute (sorry i can't do clicky)

i think you could also put her in something brighter like this (it's not perfect, but you'll get what i mean)

good luck!
This is what we tell families.
Coordinate your outfits as if you were putting them on ONE person. So stand back and look at it as if you were going to wear all the clothes you pick out at the same time.
nordstrom has personal shopping/styling . . . maybe give them a call?

i am sure that it would make shopping more fun for you and you'd hopefully be able to find a few pieces/outfit you love. also, if you aren't going to do family photos for three years, i think it's a worthwhile investment to love what you are wearing.
patty's advice is great too. i know we went with neutral/muted colors for our e-pics
I'm a fan of pictures in outfits that you would really wear. Clothes that look like the person wearing them. So for me, I'd probably put Kyle in a really cute and simple sweater and pants or jeans and then a dress or cute little top w/ a skirt and a cardi for Shannon.
If you wanted to go dressier, I love this dress.

Ok so before I read the responses I looked and was just about to post this dress!!! HA
So I guess I agree with Pam! You could go with white linen pants and a navy or light blue sweater and I would say Brian in Khakis and a light blue linen shirt or dress shirt and tie with darker blue in it to coordinate with you.
Yellow also goes really well with blue too!!
I get what you're saying. But, we do dress up pretty regularly. And, I'm definitely looking for dressier, rather than casual. I'll keep that dress in mind. Going to buy Kyle's outfit first, and then go from there
