Do they not sell cranberries out here? I have been to three diferent grocery stores (Trader Joes, Safeway, and Andronicos) in the last 3 weeks, and there are no cranberries in any of them.
I haven't tried Whole Foods yet, so that's next on my list.
But seriously, what's the deal? Am I just having bad luck or are they not a produce department staple here in the fall?
Re: NER - west coasters
Definitely they do, I have bought them. We may not get them as early as you are used to. They come in an Oceanspray bag (fresh). I've never seen them loose.
FYI the cranberry relish (not jelly, raw) at TJ's is YUMMY!
I think it's just the time of year. As Thanksgiving approaches, they will be more abundant.
I think that out here there is definitely LESS of everything. it's weird, really. Less selection of pretty mcuh everything. You'll adapt.
Interesting. They are seasonal on the east coast too, but usually they are everywhere by late September.
I suppose this is the trade off I make for having three kinds of chard in my grocery store.
I saw some in Freddies last week.
The season is shorter out here, that's for sure. I buy a couple bags every fall and freeze them, as I make a jello salad a good friend of mine loves and insists on having for her birthday in July.
