I have a rather "city girl" question.
Are there any major nutritional differences between farm-fresh eggs and what we get from the store? My sister's in-laws just gave her a bunch of eggs from their farm which she shared with me and it got me curious.
Re: Burkems
Clint and I were just talking about this. Our Rhode Island Reds lay the biggest eggs ever. The yolks are the size of golf balls! I don't know for sure what the caloric/fat difference is, but I know there is some. There has to be.
Other than variations due to size, there shouldn't be a difference.

We get fresh eggs from the IL's all the time and I really like them. Ours are a little smaller than the ones we get in the grocery store though. But they raised their chickens so I know they didn't pump them with growth hormones or anything crazy. They feed them just regular plain old chicken feed, plus random things like popcorn or old bread.
The biggest difference that I can actually notice is they're a heck of a lot harder to peel after you hard boil them! Something to do with being fresh.

Store bought eggs are like this too if you boil them as soon as you buy them. Just let them hang out for a week or so and they get better.
