Help me decide

I have a hair appt scheduled for Sat morning and I am not sure what I want to do.  I have had the same style for about 5 years.

This is what I'm thinking about doing

and this is what I look like now

So I am trying to decide if I want to go for the chop, just add bangs to my current style, or just get a simple trim.  Any suggestions?

Re: Help me decide

  • It's a really cute cut, but I'm not sure it's right for your face shape. I'd go with longer, face-framing layers. Side-swept bangs would still work, but I think the length is too short.

  • I actually think it would look really cute on you!  I'm super afraid of  bangs, so would probably do the same cut sans bangs, but that's just me.  Can't wait to see after pics!
  • How curly is your hair normally? I would worry about how short it might actually end up vs. how it looks in the photo.

I say go for a new cut (especially the bangs!), but maybe add an inch or two to Katie's length?

  • I am not a hair expert, but I think you would look good with bangs.

Would you be able to style the Katie Holmes haircut everyday?

  • I have seen a lot of articles that agree with Leigha so that is the biggest reason I am hesitant.  I would probably cut mine slightly longer as PP suggested - probably chin length at the shortest point.

SBS - my hair has a moderate amount of natural curl but I straighten on a fairly regular basis.

  • I really think that cut would look good on you. But, I would have to echo the feelings of PPs in that it would need to be a little bit longer. Don't forget to post an after shot!

  • I think its really cute -- will your hair straighten like that or would you keep it curly?

I do a little of both.  It depends on how much time I want to put in each morning but I would wear it straight most of the time.

I wish I had that option -- my hair is stick straight no matter what.  It won't hold a curl unless its done professionally and they work whatever magic they have.

  • I think bangs would look great on you! Agreed that maybe a couple extra inches on Katie's style would be perfect.

Hawki, have you tried curling your hair with a very good straightener? Best way to get stubborn hair to hold a curl!
