My afternoon snack

Consisted of Reeses peanut butter cups, a large oatmeal cookie, diet coke and a handful of jelly beans. I can't get this sweet tooth under control!

I need some healthy snack ideas to get me motivated when I go grocery shopping this week Sad

Oct.'13 Siggy Challenge: Cheers to Easter!

Re: My afternoon snack

  • Well I'm a hypocrit because I just ate a bunch of chips and cheese dip.

However, I did buy some grapes at the grocery store yesterday. I washed them and stuck them in a bowl in the fridge, so that every time I go in there I see the grapes all ready to be eaten. I do this with strawberries too, so that they're more accessible. Plus then you can just grab some to pack in a lunch for work too without it being a huge deal.

  • I love reeses!! They are my favorite food

  • Mine was popcorn (Rodgers and I shared a bag) and a slice of leftover pizza. Now, I think it's time for a Cadbury Creme Egg. I'm not a good healthy snacker. I wish we had some chips and dip.

  • I bought baby carrots and celery for snacks....boring huh??
  • Oh Meg, I hear you. My sweet tooth is insane and I have my glucose test in 3.5 weeks. Must. Get. It. Under. Control.

Some things that have worked for me within the past couple of months: picking up Skinny Cow ice cream, Smart ones frozen desserts, frozen fruits to put in smoothies/greek yogurt/juice (mmm...I want a mango smoothie...), strawberries (to use w/ whipped cream on fat free pound cake...mini shortcakes...

Unforuntatly, often, these healthier options are vetoed by tagalongs, homemade brownies (never again will i make these while pregnant...it's a bobby flay recipe and AMAZING), and left over anniversary cake. Fail.

  • Eesh...not to scare you, but I never had a sweet tooth before I got pregnant and it did not go away! I ALWAYS have to have dessert. I scavenge the house for sweets, and if I don't have any ready-made I will make cookies or something. One day I made saltine treats just for myself. OMG!

  • I got nothing... another sweets lover here!

But I'll eat dry cereal for a snack if I'm feeling like I've already had too many sweets. Fruit is always good and I did pick up some cottage cheese last time I was at the store.
