New job vibes, please

Well, maybe I'll be around here more often now...

I lost my job today.  Apparently I was putting out the attitude that I "didn't want to do this (cooking) anymore."  I don't; that's why I'm going to school for something totally different.  Additionally, we lost an apartment we were looking at.

Anyway, can I get some vibes that I land a new job soon?   Or at least pictures of puppies or something?  I need something to cheer me up.

Re: New job vibes, please

  • Ugh, I'm so sorry.  Can you do something ID related?  Even if it is working at Crate & Barrel or Z Gallerie or something?

I'll PIP puppies for you tomorrow- I can't on Chrome.

  • Trying to, but no one will hire me...they take one look at my resume, and assume that I know nothing about anything except cooking.  I'm going to go tomorrow after school and pound the pavement a bit.  At least the weather will be good.

Write yourself a really good cover letter that explains your desire to change fields.  Seriously.  I completely changed law fields when I took my job and the recruiter was like, "This letter was amazing- no one ever is brutally truthful like this- and I really appreciate what you are doing, it lets us know that you'll be a fantastic asset."

  • So sorry to hear that. I hope you find a new job soon and that it's something you love. Good luck!
