USA Today question (stolen from H&F) Food or Money?
Asked in USA Today (last week), would you rather be given $10,000 or be able to eat whatever you want without gaining any weight? What would your answer be? What do you think the percentage is of each response of females who answered this question?

Re: USA Today question (stolen from H&F) Food or Money?
It depends for how long you can eat that way.
Right now I'd take the money in a second, but if it's eat whatever for life, I might change my mind...
Eat whatever I want and not gain any weight from my current weight? Or my ideal weight?
Current weight, $10k no hesitation. Then I'd just keep living my life trying to eat well, but failing most of the time and working out a lot.
Ideal weight I'd have to think about a little harder, but probably still the $10k.
I think the responses were probably 50/50.
I believe it was eat whatever for life.
Hm, that changes my answer. I didn't think about it that long term. Definitely the food.
I stole this from H&F, but I think the assumption was that you could eat whatever you wanted for the rest of your life and be at your ideal weight.
My first gut instinct was the food. Then I thought about the fact that I eat healthy naturally and I enjoy it. However, I think part of the reason I like to eat healthy is because I know it's good for my body. It might be more mental than i think. Plus, sadly, $10k just doesn't go that far anymore....but it WOULD get me into the car we're trying to save for or my dream trip to Africa. Haha I can't decide.
Yeah, and I'm thinking that while I'm able to maintain my weight now, it would definitely be more difficult as I get older. I've definitely decided that I would choose food.
Anyway, 72% of women chose the money. I was really surprised that it was that high!
Definitely the food. That doesn't mean I would gorge on junk food, but to have the pressure off for life, it would be worth it to me.
What would be really interesting - to those that chose "food", would you be willing to part with $10,000 of your own money for the same results, to be able to eat whatever you want for the rest of your life and be at your ideal weight?
My Ovulation Chart
Yes.
My first response was entirely too rushed. I didn't think about the full effect of being able to eat whatever I want for the rest of my life with NO PRESSURE. Good god almighty, that is totally worth paying $10k.
I'd say the food to stay at my ideal weight for life. It's worth more than $10k if you consider no longer buying gym memberships, workout equipment, dvds, etc.
As awesome as it would be, I think it would cause those around me to get fat though. Like if I wanted deep dish pizza and beer every night for dinner, DH would start packing on the pounds, and I want him to stay healthy... Same for future kids, don't want everyone else obese b/c of me.
Maybe I'm thinking too much into this... like it could really happen...
Was it $10k per month or per year maybe?
I'd definitely choose the food it if was $10k period.
Luckily for me (or not luckily for me) DH can eat like a horse and not gain an ounce. Like, mon.petit.chou said, it would be the draw of never having the guilt or pressure. I think I'd still eat very healthy therefore keeping myself away from the risk of heart attacks or high cholesterol.
And Madisen, from what I understood, it was here's $10k lump sum....or eat whatever you want forever. A lot of girls on H&F were saying that it would have to be $100k for them to even consider it. lol And honestly, I agree!
I'd probably take it for $100k. Maybe $75k.
Yeah, I think $50k and upward (none of this paying taxes on it crap) and I'd definitely have to THINK about taking the money. But no way in hell would I choose $10k over the food option. I think some people (certainly not everyone) but SOME people in that 72% just said that to avoid feeling vain. Call me vain all you'd like, but I'll take my big bowl of ice cream, wash it down with a beer and never feel one ounce of remorse.
