At 7:55 a.m., I put on my cute new flats...

... at 8:45 a.m., I put a band-aid on blister #1.  At 9:35 a.m., I put a band-aid on blister #2.

Crying

I bought these shoes on clearance at Aldo in November and they've sat in my closet all winter.  They're adorable!

This morning, I put them on and realized that they're too small.  WTH?!  I have no idea why I bought them.  But I wore them anyway, and now I'm in pain.  Stupid cute, ill-fitting shoes....

*Hoping that I can break them in enough for them to be wearable.*

  • Oh no!  I have that problem with all flats, ill fitting or not until I break them in.  I recently discovered heel grippers and love them.  Maybe try those?  They might make the shoes feel smaller though :-/

  • Oh dear. I hate that. I had a friend give me a pair of flats as a b-day gift. The right size but right my feet and gave me a blister too. I think I've started to break them in now almost a year later. Don't loose hope. (However if you do lose hope and they happen to be a size 7 I can find them a happy new home ;)

    Ha!  Sorry, they're 6's.

  • I hate that!!  I hope they start breaking in quickly.  I also have this problem with all flats, and I ended up with some killer blisters from a new pair of flats on vacation (not the ideal time to decide to tough it out...).

Tell me more about these heel grippers, please...maybe they'll help my problem, too!

I get mine at Target, and they come in a few different colors (black, nude, etc).  When I buy shoes at Aldo, I have to buy an 8 because they don't have 1/2 sizes.  These things prevent heel slippage keeping the shoes from rubbing your skin raw.

  • 2 things:

    1)  I'm sorry about the blisters.  I am wearing some new flats for the third time today.  My right foot is completely unharmed!  WIN!

    2)  I'm jealous that you don't leave for work until 7:55.  Seriously jealous.

Ha... well, I should leave earlier since I'm supposed to be there at 8:00 and it takes me 15-20 minutes to get there.  Embarrassed  No one ever seems to care when I'm late though, so I don't make too much of an effort to be on time.

Thanks!  I'm going to go look for some tonight!

  • Kasa,

I know Younkers has a shoe stretcher in their shoe department.  I'm not sure if you have to had purchased the shoes there or not - maybe just play dumb or act like you did.  Macys might have one as well.  Heck, call the Aldo you purchased them from, a shoe store prob has one of them as well. It should be a free service.  It's worth a try to help get rid of the blister problem.

I've been on the prowl for some cute flats or kitten heels to no avail!  So I hope you can get them fixed.  It would stink to not be able to wear them.

  • I didn't know that stores offered shoe stretching services.  I'll look into this.  Thanks!
  • I always have a stick of this Blister Stick in my purse for moments where I start to feel rubbing.  I've found chap stick works in a pinch too, if I rub some onto the spot with my finger.

I had a pair of Aldo boots that was the last pair in the whole state but an 8 instead of 8.5.  I got this shoe stretch spray to use at home.  If they aren't leather or suede shoes though, it might not help so much.
