People are rude

As I was approaching the door to my office building this morning, so was a man who happened to be on his cell phone.

He literally stopped in his tracks and waited for me to get to the door first so that I could open it. Ew! I was so annoyed. What a gentleman!

Re: People are rude

  • I mean, I just couldn't believe that he stopped just so I could get there first. It would have been different if I was 10 paces in front of him, but nope!
  • I've been hormonal lately so I probably would have done 1 of 2 things: 1) only opened the door wide enough for me to get in or 2) made sure I said (loud enough for the person on the other end of the call to hear) "Thanks for making a pregnant women get the door for you!" (even if I wasn't showing I'd still say it). The only way I wouldn't do either is if I knew the person.

  • What a jackwad.  Did he at least say thank you or smile at you?  If not, I would have shouted a hearty sarcastic "You're Welcome".

    Hahahah so true!

  • That's obnoxious! I also hate when people who are like 2 feet in front of you rush to the door so that they don't have to hold it for you...especially when you have your hands full!

  • You should have stood right there in the threshold and started digging through your purse for "something important." That way he would have just stood there looking like the idiot he is.Stick out tongue
