Favor ideas for 1st b-day Spring theme

I am kind of known for my themed birthday parties (haha) so my sister asked me to help plan her DD's first birthday.  I think I need some fresh ideas. She is doing a Spring/easter theme (the party is in April) Think bunnies/chicks in purple, yellow, pink. You ladies are always so creative, any ideas for favors for 10-12 kids? I'll probably check out the Target dollar section for inspiration. :)

Thanks Ladies!

Re: Favor ideas for 1st b-day Spring theme

  • How old are the kids?

  • I may have more ideas once I know the kids' ages, but here are some spring-favor ideas!

    Small flower pot with seeds
    Kite
    Bubbles
    Sidewalk chalk
Foam Stickers / Felt craft (flowers, bugs, butterflies, etc.)

I've made these for gifts before -- http://creativetreasure.blogspot.com/2009/04/easter-bunny-smores.html

  • Ohhh good question Alicia. They mostly range in age from babies to 5 year olds but there will be an 8 and 10 year old. Big age span!
  • Definitely hit up the dollar store first. For my baby shower, which was right around Easter, the kids all got a stuffed bunny from the dollar store. There were 10 different ones, and all so cute! Didn't cost much either ;)

  • the target dollar section had cute little pails, garden gloves ans seed starter kits!

  • Have you checked out Orientaltrading.com ?  They have cheap favors.

  • Great ideas, thanks!
  • one year i gave plastic flower pots that looked like terra cotta.  got them in the dollar section at target.  I got them 2 years ago, but saw them last year too. i bet they will have somethig like them again.  i had the kids put the foam stickers on the pots as an activity- not messy and gave them something to do.  i had so many ideas for what to do with the pots, but decided to do just that and then gave goodie bags when they left.  but one thing i was going to do thatwasn't messy was give crayons to put in the pot.  DD uses her pot as a crayon holder, not for plant.  i actually love it as a crayon bin.  I would rec a bottle of tacky glue on hand just in case some stickers don't stick.  kids loved it and older siblings made them for siblings too young to do it.
