1 day closer

to Friday!!!

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!  I'm wearing a green polo...that's the extent of my celebration.

Last night as I was leaving work heading home Don calls me and says that he forgot to le me know that his tattoo appointment had been pushed up to tonight.  Thanks for letting me know after I'm already heading in the wrong direction!  Then he calls me back 5 mins later asking if I could go to the bank to get him a $20 for a tip, so I do.  Then he calls me back asking if I could pick him up dinner...by this time it's 5:30, the appt is at 6, and I'm no where close to being there.  So, I refused to get him food since you can't bring food into the tattoo place...he wasn't happy, but I just plain wasn't going to make it there in time.  Once I got there I hung out until about 8 then went home since I'd left my book at work so I was basically just sitting there wasting time.  Plus, our dog still needed to be walked and I didn't want her to have to wait until after 9.  Don got home around 10...just in time for me to say goodnight basically.  Great night!

  • Happy St. Patty's day!!!

I'm exhausted and can't think right now, so this is all I'm going to write, right now.  I'll be back later when my mind is back to normal.  Just wanted to say happy st. patty's day!!  (P.S.- sorry your night kinda sucked!)

  • i forgot it was st. patty's day until i heard it on the radio today.

FINALLY slept REALLY well last night, almost too well, you know, to the point that it is hard for me to function today.  so tired.  but it is sunny out, the birds were chirping, and it is supposed to be in the fifties today, so it's quite lovely :)

  • Happy St. Patty's Day! I'm wearing my green shirt and jeans (thank you principal for letting us wear jeans today if we wore a green shirt).

So yesterday afternoon, I pulled into the driveway and Jeremy's standing outside, with his shirt off, and I realize I must look like a fat cow next to him. I promptly went inside, changed, grabbed the iPod and hit the road for a jog. I did about 2 miles (walked half) but I was proud of myself. Now I just have to keep it up. Going for another one today and hopefully playing some tennis with him tonight too.

  • Happy Feast of Saint Patrick! Are you wearin' o' the green? I am.

Today is my grandmom's birthday, so I need to call her. I filled out my NCAA bracket and placed my Gap Give & Get order. I should probably start working soon but I have to format a proposal and it is going to be hideous.

Last night I picked books up at the library, then went home and ate. I did three loads of laundry, packed my lunch and gym bag, picked up a bit, wiped down both bathrooms, cleaned the kitchen, dusted the top floor and changed our sheets.
I had to put the new duvet on by myself since MFD was working. It is the closest I will ever come to wrestling an alligator. I hate doing that. I adore the color of the new duvet though. It pops.

I watched Glee and Criminal Minds and painted my nails and toes. I read in bed until 11:30 then was out like a light.

Tonight I might run some errands if I'm feeling sassy, and I'll do some more cleaning and picking up so I have the weekend to lounge or do yard work. I will also probably help MFD with his wash because it's in the basement already and he'll be out tonight.

I had an awesome day yesterday! First we went to lunch by the water it was sooo nice. We went car shopping yesterday! On our new to us 2008 Honda Accord. YAY!!!

Last night was Berns. I highly recommend everyone come to Tampa and go! Everything was wonderful. I hate onions their onion soup was so yummy! Everything melted in your mouth.

  • Happy Paddy's Day!  I'm being a rule breaker and wearing my  nice, green Guinness shirt to work today. :-)  Looking forward to enjoying a few at the local pub after work.

I woke up this morning happy as a clam - the sun is shining, it's warm(er), the birds are chirping.  Then I walked out the door and BAM.  Allergies hit me.  I feel like I have carpet in my sinuses and throat.  Blech.

  • xtine, congrats on the new car--LOVE accords!

stephanie, you kill me with all you do and with your witty words.

emilyann-GOOD FOR YOU!  you have to start somewhere!  i KILLED it on my run this week and feel so good!

  • Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The extent of my Irish-ness and celebration ends at me wearing green. Although my coworker keeps talking about his corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot at home.

I feel like a bad Irish person but I've only had it once and my mom completely ruined it so I don't like it. But I'm tempted to stop at the store on the way home and see if they have any left and try it out this weekend. Maybe. I dunno. I'm rather indecisive today.

  • Happy St. Pat's Day. I'm still lounging at the moment, but I will be wearing green to my waitress job later. Thankfully, we don't serve alcohol, so we probably won't be crazy busy. That's okay, it's been busy this week at school, so I've been pretty exhausted overall, so I'm excited for the end of the week, which for me is Saturday. *sigh* I even had to work the last night there after school, which made for a basically 12-13 hour day. At the moment, I'm waiting around for the UPS guy so I can sign for H's riding jacket. They couldn't leave it yesterday without the signature on thier machine (we left a note on the door with a signature, but no luck. Hopefully he gets here soon, b/c I have to leave in about an hour, then H will be SOL for another day.

I freaking adore corned beef, but I haven't boiled it or crocked it in years. I roast it with Guiness and brown sugar. To die for. I got the recipe off of allrecipes.com.

We do lop off a portion of the corned beef and boil it with cabbage, potatoes, parsnips and carrots just to add flavor.

  • I think I may have to try it. Well, I should probably ask H what the likelihood of him eating it would be first because the last thing I need is a ton of corned beef to throw out if he doesn't like it.
  • I don't celebrate St. Patty's day at all. I'm not even wearing green today. I don't know why I don't I just never have.

H has been working the day shift the past couple of days and was off yesterday so I have been spoiled with him being home and today he is back to evening shift. Crying I have to wash our sheet tonight because my doggies are losing their winter coat and have hair all over our bed. And I took my little shih tzu (boogie) to the groomers yesterday and he looks so cute now. I am going to keep taking him to petsmart from now on. I have so much to do tonight around the house but I really just want to lay down on our big bed and watch tv all night.

my dad always made it in the crock pot with cabbage, potatoes, and carrots, and onions.  i have NO IDEA how he seasoned it,  but it was seriously my favorite food growing up as a kid.  i would ask for it for my birthday dinner every year.

  • Morning all!  Got my green boobie shirt on today and ripped jeans.  Breaking about 3 dress code rules, but all the bosses are gone and I don't give a shiz!

Last night I was supposed to grocery shop for party supplies (having poker and a jewelry party tomorrow) and clean.  That got shot to hizell when I went up the hill to visit MIL.  Got home around 7:30, farted around on FB, then got motivated to vaccuum.

Our Dyson was acting up and apparenly I missed my calling as a vaccuum repair person.  I had that Dyson gutted, cleaned out and back in tip top condition in no time!  Made my grocery list of party food, picked up and dusted the living & dining rooms, cleaned the bathroom and read in bed for a while.  Again, I feel I channeled Steph :)

Steph-I HATE wrestling the duvet cover on teute seule.  It's definitely a two man job

Xtine-Congrats on the accord, my civic and I are going strong after 6 years and 110K

Emily-great job on the run!  My DH has been working out at home lately and when he took his shirt off last night, I felt like a fat asss compared to him.  Not fun, but glad you're doing something about it

Jedaniel-I feel ya on the dog hair.  The poor Dyson was overrun by pug-fur.  Sorry about the night shift :(

  • Morning all.  I'm wearing green today.  Debating on whether I should go drink green beer, go to the gym, or jump on my treadmill?  Yesterday I did three miles on my treadmill and was so proud of myself.

Xtine- Congrats on the new car

Steph- I bet you have the cleanest house in the country

Emilyann- Congrats on the 2 miles

Jedaniel- I totally feel your pain.  I spent 4 straight days with Richard and then on Monday we had to go back to work, and he back to night shift.

  • I am also still lounging this morning, but might throw on some green later. Right now I am boiling down sap to make maple syrup and a bit later I need to snowshoe out to check our taps.

Yesterday DH took his car to get an estimate done and the total damage was $5321, which if we had collision insurance would have totaled the car since it is only worth around $3500. The money we are getting will cover the mechanical work and honestly the body damage is not that bad. I guess I really have to start funneling money into the new car fund now. :)

Steph - I agree you must have the cleanest house in the country. I really need to get to cleaning ours and then I need to finish all the painting we started in the fall.

  • Never fear ladies, I have two shedding pug dogs, my house is dirty a half hour after I clean it.

This stupid proposal caused me to miss my class at the gym, and it is the most a$$ kicking class I take. So tonight I'll hit the streets with the dogs, and then when I'm plopped in front of the tube I'll do pushups, crunches, squats, lunges, etc etc.

  • Happy Birthday!  I'm wearing a green shirt, a black skirt with black boots, and my shamrock earrings =).

Work was long today but I'm home now cooking beef stew with carrots, mushrooms, onions, and plenty of potatoes.  H's boss brought in Guiness for everyone today and he came home tipsy lol

Not too much else to report!  Hope everyone is enjoying their days!  In Boston, St. Patty's is a BIG deal.
