Ok, so I'm sure you all remember my former MOH who dropped out of the wedding 3.5 months before it was supposed to happen b/c the other girls were being "mean" to her (they really weren't). Well, we went over a year with out speaking. She had a baby in January and I decided that I was going to be the bigger person and congratulate her, because I was truly happy for her. Well we emailed back and forth for awhile and are Facebook friends again. Her and her family always participate in March of Dimes Walk for Babies b/c their first child was born 12 weeks early. So I decided to donate to their team. I put the donation through last night and haven't gotten a thank you or anything! I know she's been online b/c she's posted on Facebook since then. I mean I know we aren't BFF's again (and we never will be), but seriously, an acknowledgement that you appreciate my donation would be great, ugh.
Sorry so long...but am I over reacting?
Re: So annoyed...
Just playing devil's advocate...is it clear that you made the donation? Is your name on it? And since you only did it last night, I would give it a few days...
But if she goes a week or more without acknowledging your donation, then that's kinda rude, and I don't blame you for being upset.
It should be clear that the donation was from me...I had to type in my name, address and email address. I walked with them 2 years ago and when I got an online donation, I got an email saying "John Smith has sent you an online donation."
I know it seems like I'm jumping the gun...but I know her and I know the way she is. And if I get the thank you tomorrow or the day after, I'll totally eat crow. But at the moment, I'm just irritated lol.

Lindsay~
I totally get what you're saying. I am sure you're feeling uneasy because of all the negative interactions you had with her last year too. I think you are the bigger person, just think about that way, you know?
I am glad that you are reconnecting...it's hard being disconnected from those we used to be close with. I can really relate!
I had a similar experience with a friend who is always sending out fundraiser things for his kids. Typically, because I remember how important winning those little prizes seemed to me when I was in school, I always try to support my friends' kids fundraisers. But this one friend (who has 3 kids) sent three to me last year for various things - and I supported them all, and not one word of thanks!
And I know that they knew, because nowdays, the organizations send you a link to order with the kid's name and group already filled in. I was a little peeved, because in this economy, I think it's generous of anyone to "give" money away, even for a worthwhile cause. People should acknowledge the donors, even if with a verbal thank you. More than that, it is a great opportunity for them to teach their kids good etiquette in this regard.
So, I totally feel you. And to Cindy's point - I'm not buying from their fundraisers this year.

Good I'm glad she ended up doing the right thing
You deserved a thank you for being the bigger (and more generous) person!
