*~*ARCHEL*~*

My life is sooooooooo boring these days, but I'll take it! I mean, after the last year, I'm embracing boredom. I spend my mornings refereeing furbabies, my afternoons helping 12 year olds find AR books and my night snuggling with that guy I married. No babies, no major career changes. I'm going back to school in the fall to finish my teaching certification, but I don't plan to leave the library unless/until we leave southern LA.

How are things out there in the Pacific Northwest? Is Portland as awesome as Portlandia makes it seem?

Re: *~*ARCHEL*~*

  • lol about Portlandia. I've actually only seen/heard a few clips of that show. It's a neat city, but I've only really been there a few times.  Seattle is waaaay better in my opinion. We've had a pretty decent winter too. Hardly any snow to speak of and it was actually less gray and rainy than I expected it to be. And now the cherry trees on campus (where I work) are starting to bloom and spring is here!!  I'm still working at the University as basically an admin assistant, but I'm keeping an eye out and applying for jobs in the events field. Yes, I'm one of those "wedding planning made me realize how much I loved the event world" types of people. :p

Anyways, glad life has slowed down for you. It pretty much has for me too, I've just been trying to occupy myself with projects - like trying to teach myself how to sew, making scrapbooks and photobooks, and learning french.

Which grade do you hope to teach? Or if it's junior high or high school, which subject? Glad to see you back here!!

  • I see how it is... you finally come back from hiding, and you only want to talk to Rachel.
  • Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude... she asked.

     And Rachel:

I taught sophomore English way back when so I would most likely go back to high school. I'm not adverse to junior high, but tweens can be REALLY sensitive. I have no plans to teach once I have my certification, at least, not in Lafayette. I'm really just finishing so I'll have a more marketable skill set when/if we move.
