Your wedding band...

Do you wear it on top of or underneath your engagement ring?  Like, closer to your hand or your fingertips?

Our jeweler said it doesn't matter, but my sister told me she had always heard you wear it closest to your heart, so I wear it underneath.

Just curious what you all do...

  • under...

and it is thew ay you're supposed to...i mean to each their own....your wedding is supposed to mean more than your engagement...thus wear it closer to you heart....that finger has the vein that runs right from finger to heart <3

  • On bottom, but I rarely take it off.  E-ring I take off at night, it's just easier.  Plus I like the whole "closest to your heart" thought
  • I wear it under my engagement ring, but it's mostly an aesthetic thing - I don't like the way my set looks in reverse.  I do know a few people who wear it the other way, and the reasoning I've always heard is that it "seals the promise." I think that's kind of nice, actually.

But I still prefer mine underneath.

  • I wear mine underneath.  One of my co-workers wears hers over top because she's afraid of losing her e-ring.

  • I wear mine underneath.  I like the idea of it being closet to my heart and I do take my e-ring off at night so it makes it easier for that too.
  • I also wear mine underneath, I have always been told that is the "correct" way also, and same reason, closer to your heart.

  • Mine is underneath also. My mom told me on my wedding day about the whole "closer to your heart" thing, so that is what we did :)

  • I wear it under cause I like how it looks.

But I've seen it both ways, as well as a band on each side of the ERing.

  • I have always heard you wear it under, but my wedding ring is a wrap so I don't have any other choice how to wear it.

Mine too, I keep telling Lance that would be a great first anniversary gift.

  • I wear it under because when I got married my finger was bare....after I placed the engagement on top of the wedding ring.  I NEVER take my wedding ring off so it is still in the spot where my hubby placed it on my finger on our wedding day

That's really nice.  Mine are soldered together, and this is one of the two reasons I wish it weren't (the other being so that I can just wear my band when I go to the gym or somewhere else that I don't want to wear my e-ring).

What a nice thought!  I guess it's a matter of preference.

Mine looks better underneath also, so I will stick to that, too.

You know, it's funny - this is what I thought I would want, mostly because I like things to be symmetrical.  But the more I wear my rings, the more I love them the way they are...

So I suppose Chris is off the hook!

  • I wear mine under just because that's how I always thought you were supposed to.  I take my engagement ring off a lot more than my wedding band, so it makes sense that way too.

  • I don't think I know anybody who wears it over. Mine is under-obv.

It looks better to me and I didn't know that wasn't the way it was supposed to be.

Honestly I never heard the closer to your heart thing. But I really think that is cute!

  • I wear mine under (closer to my heart!) like most of you. It means more to me than the ering so I would be much more upset if I lost the wedding band (even tho the ering cost more).
