DH got a letter in the mail today from Best Buy, congratulating him on his purchase of a new LCD TV, and encouraging him to sign up for Geek Squad support.
I texted DH to ask about it, because my first thought was that he'd gone out and bought a new TV to surprise me (since he's been talking for awhile about getting one). He said he knew nothing about it...and maybe we should check our credit.
I took another look at the letter....and there's a Product SKU given, a purchase price of $279.99, and a purchase date of 2/12/2011.
We can't find this purchase on any of our credit cards, so we're thinking someone got DH's info and opened a Best Buy account (or a credit card) in his name. Crap.

Re: Aw, crap
DH is going to, and he's also getting copies of his credit report.
I figure he probably needs to do it, since it's his name that's on the letter.

Oh yeah, duh! I hope he can figure out what's going on. I wonder if they could figure out what store it was bought at...and look at security cameras to figure out who it was.
