Uh oh . . .

So when H and I adopted P.D., there was this beautiful husky named Fawn at the shelter. She'd been there since October and hadn't made our "list" simply because we wanted someone who was on the younger side and she's b/t 8 & 9 y/o.

I just looked and she's still there.

This was the convo b/t H and I:

QoA:is it bad that i kind of want to adopt fawn
Husband: hehe i was thinking that too
Husband: what's wrong with us?

I think I'm going to say "if she isn't adopted by this date, we're going to get her." I think H and I are crazy. Since we're not having real babies, I think we're going to have a house full of fur babies.

  • She's so pretty!!!

If we had a backyard we'd adopt another dog...or two. :)

  • If you absolutely had to adopt a husky, an older one is definitely the way to go.

They are pretty taxing as young dogs.

They are notoriously hard to house break among other issues.

My mother in law has a 2 year old husky.  He is a gorgeous, sweet dog but wowie....

  • I'm begging Jeremy for a dog...we could get a free puppy right now (Jack Russell) but his response is "whatever you want" but she is gorgeous! I say get her! :)

  • If we lived in a bigger house, I'd go in a heartbeat and adopt Datsyuk's poppa. That Great Pyrenees is in that shelter where he impregnated the Basset Hound (who is also still there by the way). DH would probably want the hound, which means we'd have to get them both. We don't have the room, and we can't afford that much dog food. Or carpet cleaning solution...

  • What a beautiful dog. I would say if you could swing it, do it. But I'm impulsive like that and can never turn down such a sweet face.

You need to post a picture of Datsyuk. Because seriously, a Great Pyr and a Basset Hound? That sounds ridiculous!

  • If we had a house I would so snatch that up!
  • Too cute!  Boy am I a sucker for cats and dogs.  I wish we could have pets but we can't, we're hoping to change that soon.  Richard wants a husky/german shepherd mix.

  • do it!  i am allergic to dogs, so most dogs we cannot get, but we love huskies.

and two dogs isnt that many...lia and her husband had two and just adopted another!  fur family :)

  • Ooo what a pretty dog!

I'm so glad H is on board with me that once we have a house we're definitely going to become the crazy cat couple.

  • What a gorgeous dog. I would like another one, but Geege who we adopted a few years ago is a marker and I already have to watch him like a hawk.

  • She's beautiful.  And if you aren't having regular babies, I definitely say go for it since Huskies aren't known for being great with kids.

I have a soft spot for seniors too.  I just can't bear to see them live out their last years in a shelter.  No matter how nice they try to make it, it's still not having a home.

    (sorry about the blurriness)

Datsyuk is in the back of this one, sleeping on the couch. Dixie (a jack russell beagle mix) is in the front. Because of the perspective, you can't see how much smaller Dixie is.
