Moving to San Francisco

Hello girls,

I've been lurking for the past couple of weeks but now that it's official, I figure I should introduce myself! My husband and I are originally from Colorado but have been living in Austin, TX for the past three years. He just got a promotion that will be moving us to San Francisco. I am very excited and can hardly wait! He'll be going out a few weeks earlier than myself, since I will be finishing us school with a marketing degree- so if any of you know of any entry level marketing jobs... **wink wink** ;) jk

Anyways, I'm excited for this new adventure and can't wait to get out to the beautiful city!

Re: Moving to San Francisco

  • The Austin to Bay Area move is popular around here! Nice to "meet" you!

Well we got you that way, right? Big Smile

Welcome kjohn! Big Smile Hope the move goes smoothly and look forward to getting to know you.

  • Welcome! Will you be living in the city or elsewhere in the Bay Area? What does your DH do?
  • Austin is great! It was somewhat of a culture shock just being in Texas when we first moved out here from CO- but it didn't take long for my husband and myself to fall in love with the city.

We hope to live in San Francisco- I know it's pricey but we made the mistake of choosing to live just outside of Austin verse living in the city. I'm sick of commuting and I hope to get the full San Francisco experience by living as close as we can. Although- the catch is that we have two dogs and I know the closer we get to H's work (financial district... I think) the less convenient it will be for the pups. So we're going to have to do some shopping around- which I am very excited about. :)

My husband is the assistant director of finance for a hotel, so it involves relocating every so often... but that's fine with me, we're young and get to experience some cool cities before we expand our family.
