baby stuff needed

I think I?ve got myself organized after my shower?  Some of you offered to sell me some baby stuff, so I wanted to make my plea official.  Embarrassed

Email me at chayer227 at hotmail dot com if you?ve got anything I may need, and let me know what you?re hoping for for prices ? pictures would be great too, if you can.

I know I need:

*Boppy pillow & covers ? the one SIL sent is clearly VERY used, it?s hard as a rock and feels yucky ? been washed a few too many times.

*Bath accessories ? I have a tub and tons of towels and washcloths, but no kneeling pad or spout cover, or anything along those lines.

*Johnny Jump-Up

*Cloth Diaper sprayer & travel/day use wet bags

*Nursing stool

*monitors?

I?m up for suggestions on what else you may have that I might need too.

Help me to help you (to help me). LOL  Stick out tongue

  • For the record, we have a used boppy and it still works great.  We don't have a kneeling pad or spout cover for the bath.  We don't have a johnny jump up or a cloth diaper sprayer (yet). We also don't have a nursing stool (the coffee table works well).  Certainly if they're things you want now, go for it.  But you may not need them all straight away.  Good luck!

  • I have a nursing stool and a barely used boppy in my attic -- I'll get them down and send you pics later today.  I also have a Jumparoo; don't know if you're looking for one of those or if you'd only want the other kind you mentioned.

For the spout cover and kneeling pad -- you won't need those until the baby is too big to use the infant bathtub.  I bathed DD in the tub propped on the kitchen sink for a long time because it was easiest on my back.  I didn't think the spout cover is all that necessary.  I had one for a few months because I thought it was cute but then DD got interested in trying to pull it off so I gave it away to another nestie.  For a kneeling pad, I got one of the gardener's pads at the Christmas Tree Shops for $2 and it works perfectly.

I agree, I wouldn't worry about this stuff unless you know you absolutely want it.  I'd see if you can get along without some of this stuff to save some money, and then if you find you really want it, then get it.  I would want a boppy that's in good shape; mine got pretty beat up and towards the end wasn't super comfortable to use.  Otherwise I don't have a kneeling pad or a spout cover for the bath.  We did have a johnny jump up, but didn't use it a ton.  He used the exersaucer more.  I didn't have a nursing stool or a diaper sprayer either.

  • If you really, really want the spout cover, I'm happy to send you the one Kimberly gave us. It doesn't fit on our spout because it has the lever for the shower.   I thought it was going to be crucial yet Abby hasn't hit her head once.  We're in there, too so if she gets close we just move her.  It's adorable, though!  Shoot me an email with your address!  jd72878 at aol .com

  • We got our spout cover at BabiesRUs and it was like $7 I think?

I think I have a jumper in the attic, you want a door one right? Not like a big jumparoo?

I don't think I have a Boppy, but I can take a look... are you having a boy or girl? I can't remember because I think I have a couple of boy Boppy covers...

  • Oh, also... I just got a cheapy stool at Target and use that in the bathroom... I couldn't kneel for the whole time they are in the tub and the stool is way easier! I also don't have a diaper sprayer, I just dunk them...

  • If you still end up needing things I would recommend checking out some second hand baby stores. I got a brand new boppy at the Children's Orchard in Newington for a great price. They have lots of clothes and equiptment too.

Just to chime in on the spout cover, we definitely use one because Eli is wild man in the tub and sometimes flips and fails as he plays quicker than the two of us can catch. Also, DH has a pretty big scar on his back from hitting the spout when he was little, not sure of the circumstances or the supervision that was going on at the time though!

Just my two cents on your other items- I also never used a nursing stool (always nursed on the couch with my feet on the coffee table) and we don't have a kneeling pad for the tub (although we do have a pretty cushy bathmat). I do have a diaper sprayer and would highly recommend it at some point. If you end up buying, we have these travel wetbags and have really liked them. We did have a jumperoo and it was a lifesaver. And for the monitor, we started with the Angel Care movement one, then got a basic regular one, then a simple video one. IMO the video one is totally worth the investment from the beginning!

  • I used the nursing stool for a little while the first time, but haven't used it once this time around.  However, if you feel you need one, get something that will double as a step-stool for your LO later down the line.  It should have a non-slip surface.  We have this one:

and Owen uses it now to climb into bed and to stand at the sink to wash his hands/brush his teeth.

  • Just an FYI - if you don't end up finding another Boppy, I see them all the time at TJ's/Marshall's.
